Blackstar12
https://mobile.twitter.com/ProFootballTalk/status/1278420333809336321 Week 1 and 4 cancelled.
grizmo78
I would think Week 2 and 4 being cancelled would make more sense to try and keep two weeks between each preseason game and the season... Regardless, this is going to be a good opportunity for coaches, teams, and the league to assess the advantages/disadvantages a shortened preseason would have.
Thelonebillsfan
Spoilers, they won't play the 2nd and 3rd game either, or have camp. They'll definitely have at least a few weeks of a season though. Or try too.

If Vegas had odds for it, I'd be betting on it.

I'm not making any decisions until I see how the NBA and NHL trying to play out their seasons goes. If the NHL and NBA get through theirs, I just don't see the NFL canceling the season in total. Deadpulse
Im kinda on the fence on this. I really like watching end of rosters guys get opportunities to show what they have and there are much less chances with this move. On the other hand, the global bastard still rages and its prudent.

But I have followed baseball and I doubt that the MLB will get through a week of games, if even that far.
Shanedorf
the NFL is considering having fans sign a waiver to attend the games per Daniel Kaplan at Sports Business Daily The league/teams don't want any liability..."just go to the game and spend lots of money, please" “You can feel comfortable bringing your family and friends to the facilities,” the source familiar with the working group said. “There’s a lot that’s been talked about cleaning versus disinfecting. And so… making sure your protocols are in place. A lot of people, the attitude with cleaning folks was you know, get in and get out. You’re going to see a complete reversal. “So I think what you’re going to see in this particular movement is a lot more standing out front and be visible (with cleaning), which will also you know, help in the communication that you’re trying to say, `Hey, we got this, this is what we’re doing. This is why we’re doing what we’re doing.’ It’s okay to be seen cleaning things over and over and over again.” The NFL Cleaning Theater might be a ratings hit this fall. Nothing to worry about at all...just sign the waiver.
Deadpulse
about this waiver, any of our lawyer friends want to chime in? What if someone goes to a game, gets COVID-19 and that person spreads it to others. If it's traced back to the stadium, does this waiver in any way stop those people who got it second hand from coming at the NFL?

If youre not worried (maybe youve already had it?) then thats your call. 33 minutes ago, Deadpulse said: about this waiver, any of our lawyer friends want to chime in? So there would be no NFL liability.

However, what a slap in the face to any and all communities. We have no problem endangering the lives of the people in and around these stadiums because oops, we aren't liable! What if someone goes to a game, gets COVID-19 and that person spreads it to others. If it's traced back to the stadium, does this waiver in any way stop those people who got it second hand from coming at the NFL? In the article from The Athletic, two lawyers offer their opinions on it. "Bob Hilliard, a plaintiff’s attorney who has sued MLB on behalf of fans hit by foul balls and is currently representing Houston Astros season ticket holders litigating over the sign-stealing scandal, does not believe a potential NFL waiver would hold up in court. “Strange things about waivers…they are fragile—often easily breakable,” he wrote in an email. “Especially, as I assume here, when you are asking fans to waive their rights even if the NFL is negligent, grossly negligent, etc. Comes down to proportionate power—and the NFL has a high hurdle to claim that a fan has an actual choice." Irwin Kishner, head of the sports practice at New York law firm Herrick Feinstein, which represents team owners, agreed a waiver is problematic but not necessarily invalid as Hilliard suggested. “Waivers are governed by state law and speaking very generally and in over broad terms, are typically unenforceable depending on circumstances,” he said. “Fans attending games, though, are assuming a level of risk by entering a stadium.” Every ticket already has a waiver on it, this extra waiver is just a sign that the billionaires want additional protection from the additional risk. The owners all sit in enclosed luxury suites, safely away from the unwashed fans. When I see Robert Kraft/Jerruh Jones sitting in the cheap seats breathing that air - then I'll know they actually believe what they're shoveling.

Many teams are also offering season ticket holders their paid money back and the assurance that they retain full rights to their season tickets for next year. CriminalMind
So are they going to re do the schedule games if only week 2 & 3 are played? Makes sense to move them a week back and release a new preseason schedule with each team playing 1 home & 1 road
