The Grapes of Wrath
Gone with the Wind
The Bicycle Thief
Key Largo

The Grapes of Wrath should win this easily no question about it, but probably will not even get nominated based on the 1950s results.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

All the King's Men           Broderick Crawford is fantastic in ths film. Mercedes McCambridge is fantastic as well.  Such a unique voice.

Casablanca                      Wow, just wow.

Sorry, Wrong Number     Love Barbara Stanwyck.

White Heat                       Cageny was fantastic.

I've watched Citizen Kane a couple of times, and yeah, it is a great film, but it really doesn't ring my bell.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is my all time favorite film.

Period

Not favorite of an era.

Not favorite of a specific actor/actress.

Favorite film.

Period

If you've not seen it, I highly recommend it.

You can find it on the archive.org site for free.

I've seen it well over 100 times (I kid you not), and it still gives me goosebumps.

Mr. Deeds goes to Town.

Completely different storyline.

Mr. Smith deals with government issues.

Interestingly enough, Frank Capra wanted Gary Cooper to play the Jefferson Smith role, but Jimmy Stewart is fantastic.

Seems like a lot of people are like Miss Hoover in The Simpsons when it comes to The Grapes of Wrath.  The movie is absolutely outstanding!
