Edge
Not bad. I'm very interested in the numbers, but it's a great deal to structure the numbers over a long period of time and create room. I think that's a good deal for both sides. We get to keep our QB and Mahomes gets paid big time, while it may allow the team to structure things around the contract to keep the team competitive, which should also be in the best interest of both sides. SalvadorsDeli
I didn't realize you could do contracts tied to cap % rather than total salary in the NFL. Seems like the only way a contract like this would make sense for Mahomes to protect against expected jumps in the cap in future years. Still, seems likely this will end up being a bargain for the Chiefs in the long run.

So when contracts eventually do inflate and the cap expands, so will his contract?
