What he showed was he could fill that role. So having Adams yesterday changes almost nothing except a likely postgame rant we didn’t need. As @TheChad mentions above though, good teams have more than 1 or 2 good players regardless of position. Having an elite talent like Adams makes the defense better - idk how that can be denied Not that this needs further discussion, but look at Jamal yesterday ON Seattle who already has great players

But at the same time what if he changes our defense, better yet him and Maye together change the defense, and Allen doesn't run all over us and it's a 14-10 game. Our S ply was probably the best unit we had yesterday. Maybe played great and so did McDougald. Adams would’ve had more than 2 sacks and a FF like Maye did? Doubtful. If anything yesterday proved that we don’t need Adams. What it did prove though is that we should’ve went hard after an edge (like we say every offseason) when we didn’t. Adams is a great player, no one is disputing that but Maye filled his role perfectly and McDougald filled Maye’s role(we never got beat deep). Safety play was fine. So yes Adams would have had more than two. 😄 Again, I'm not making that into a huge deal and it's stupid to argue over but if we get nit picky then yes Adams would have a bigger influence. He also gets people into position. I hope by the end of the season we have a nice video of Maye leading the defense and making the calls how Adams did.

Adams would have done what he usually does, few tackles for loss and run stuffs. No picks, PDs or gamechanging plays. What we really needed was speed at linebacker and EDGE to chase Allen and some interior pass rush(Q) No gamechanging plays? I'm not going to argue comparing stat lines and 2 extra PDs as your huge argument but to say Jamal doesn't make gamechanging plays is idiotic. With all of what Maye did yesterday he had very little impact on the game.
Bianconero 1,185
Daniel Jones and the Giants O looks pretty competent
NewAge 344
The Jets should sign Juju.
doumeyer 394
This guy Danial Jones is head & shoulder better than Darnold. And he has been in the league only one year. Jones throws a very accurate pass, and his receivers are 100% better than ours.
GangGreen420 870
Daniel Jones would be just as bad if not worse than Darnold if the situations were flipped.

Agreed, I think any QB is going to look like garbage in this situation. Sam looked better as a rookie than he did yesterday.

The Giant O line is no better than our offensive line in fact it is worst. Jones is just a much better passer. And he is playing against a outstanding defensive. Bianconero 1,185
Add Leonard Williams to the list of former Jets having great 2020 debuts

ekill08x 1,009
I could care less who is better or worse. I am just concerned that the QB of my team literally cant make a clean throw with a clean pocket. That is a big issue. Is he great throwing on the run, absolutely, but hes got to be able to drop back, climb the pocket and set his feet and throw and yesterday he had instances to do it and it were some of the worst throws of his day. The heck did he work on with Palmer? Just bootlegging and tossing on the run on every play?
