Sharks are paying Erik Karlsson (30) $11.5m AAV for 6 more years, Logan Couture (32) $8m AAV for 6 more years, Brent Burns (36) $8m AAV for 4 more years and Marc-Edouard Vlasic (34) $7m AAV for 5 more years. Christ are they in a bad spot.

Evander Kane (29) at $7m AAV for 4 more years is somehow not their worst contract.

They should trade Meier now for a good pick. I think his qualifying offer is something stupid like 10 million. It's not even worth giving up an asset to dump one of those bad contracts. Just ride this out and start moving off as they get closer to the end of their deals

Same page lol

I'd give them something like isles pick plus a prospect.

They can have the Isles pick and Nolan Foote, considering his ELC is sliding another year. Gives them 3 years of something they can afford.

McDavid just hit 100 points in his 53rd game

He certainly did. A heck of an achievement given the era etc. This years league average goals against average is 2.73

Fans are watching something very special with McDavid.

His improvement each year since his rookie season is amazing.

Had he not scored a single goal this year he would be trailing only Draisaitle in the scoring race.

The areas of the game at which he’s the best in history grows each year.

not a surprise but he really turned around a joke of a franchise.

I wonder where CBJ goes from here. They want a top line C this offseason and want to compete while they have arguably the best top pairing in the NHL. However top line C's don't exactly grow on trees. Add to that Laine has a QO of 7.5M (IIRC) and is still a one dimensional player (but if he was consistent has the potential to be one of the best in that department).

The coaching choice is going to set the tone for the future.
