Ok, in Garretts first 3 seasons, he has played in 37 games (injuries to start his rookie year and the suspension) He has 30.5 sacks. Macks first 3 seasons, playing 48games, had 30 sacks.

Im not saying sacks are the be all end all but it's just for comparisons. Garrett has been damn good for the Browns

Ok!? I didn’t say he couldn’t get sacks. I said he isn’t as good as Donald or Mack to reset the market.

I was just showing, that Garrett is pacing with Mack. Garrett just got his contract Sooner than Mack.

Yes he is.

Did we all just forgot that MG is an absolute monster? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Before he was suspended he had 10 sacks in 10 games. That puts him right at where Mack and AD were last year, and more importantly where those guys were before they had their best seasons.

That'sdeserving of a market setting contract IMO.

I have to fly into cleveland quite a bit to visit family as they live in fremont. If anyone has recommendations on good Cleveland fast food it would be appreciated.

I just hope the cap is still going to rise.

Between this and the Jones deal, I wonder if teams and agents have some clarity on what will happen with the cap moving forward, giving them some semblance of certainty (e.g., no cap decline next season).

At one point Kirk Cousins reset the market and became the highest paid QB (and player) in the league. Garrett is certainly worth resetting the DE market, but Mack and Donald will come round in X years to re-reset it...if you know what I mean.

Not worth getting annoyed over.

See it the same way. Because these deals are acting as though COVID-19 won’t play a part in revenue at all.

Had these deals happened before all this I would’ve understood, but at this point, I don’t understand it. Would’ve thought it would’ve served to even out the contracts for at least a couple seasons.

Um, yes he is. Not sure what you're basing this on.

That’s not how setting the market works. The market resets almost any year a premier (not the best) player of a position hits the market and/or when the cap increases.

How this is not understood is beyond me.

The #1 overall pick in the draft that has out performed Kahlil Mack the first 3 years of their careers isnt good enough to reset the market?
