Just given the athletic numbers, I am kind of surprised that Dequoy was cut this early.  I figured that they would try to develop him for a year then see what they had next season.

[edit]

then again, I am always mesmerized by the raw, small school, athletes.  Especially if they are defensive backs.

I've been trying to count our official roster size.

I have 76 players plus 4 players on PUP/NFI giving us the total roster size of 80.

Hunter Bradley and Greg Roberts do not count towards the active roster because they're currently on the covid list. Two more players would need to be cut to put both of them back onto the active roster.

All aboard the Begelton Bandwagon!

It’s only one practice, but Begelton looks like he could be an intriguing addition if he makes the 53-man roster. The former Canadian Football League standout is only 6 feet tall, but he’s lightning quick and has great hands from the early looks of it. He made a couple of contested catches Saturday and looks fluid running routes across the middle. The best-case scenario is he becomes that reliable slot receiver the Packers so badly lacked in 2019.

Being a first round draft pick in the CFL the Packers may have been doing this kid a favor.

Yeah, Dequoy may have requested it. He might take Begelton's path to the NFL. Develop his skills in the CFL for a couple of years and then sign with an NFL team.
