Ozzy
12 minutes ago, BobbyPhil1781 said: Yeah, it's strange in that regard also bc ND really wasn't very good on offense last season. Finding this a strange hire in a lot of ways but hey, if Bama is worse off, very few will complain. Yeah but Nick Saban is Bama, coordinators come and go and Saban is the reason for their success not the coordinators. Rees is a younger more youthful coach than what they have had in previous years so maybe he is just looking for a change in that regard, will be interesting who they go with the DC spot. They did not get any super star transfers like they have the previous two years so will be interesting what they look like. That along with losing arguably the two best leaders Nick Saban has ever had on any one team in Will Anderson Jr and Bryce Young. Not an awful roster, the D should be good, Oatis is a force and the others have experience on the DL. Lawson is a star ILB and Turner one of the best pass rusher in the nation. And McKinstry is the best CB in the nation arguably, or should be and the others could be ok. On offense who knows a lot depends on the OL and how well they can get back and run the ball, having Milroe at QB will help that. QB Milroe / Simpson RB McClellan / R. Williams WR Burton / Prentice / Law WR Brooks / Bond TE Dippre / Ouzts OT Latham OG Booker C McLaughlin / Dalcourt OG ? OT Procter? DE T. Smith / Burroughs NT Oatis DE Eboigbe OLB D. Turner ILB Lawson ILB Campbell / Jefferson OLB Braswell / Alexander CB McKinstry CB T. Arnold CB slot: M. Moore FS D. Smith SS K. Story Nothing great but they did have what the #1 class in the country this past cycle. #1 OT Proctor out of Iowa could be a super star, #1 safety, #2 RB and #2 CB etc.
Danger
I have no doubt that Bama will be in the top 5 next year, but this seems like one of the weaker teams they've had in a while. I'm sure some guys will step up unexpectedly, but outside of McKinstry and Turner, none of them really catch my eye.

Could easily see another two loss season for them but they do have the benefit of majority of their tough games will be at home. Gonna need to figure things out quickly bc Texas coming to town in week 2 will be a hell of a challenge for them

Nobody needs a lameduck OU and Texas sitting in the Big 12 when they clearly wanted to leave yesterday.

candyman93
Really glad the Big 10 pulled Todd Blackledge away from ESPN. He’s fantastic as an announcer. When Gary Danielson retires, CBS needs to poach Herbie away. Some other guys I wish they’d poach- Sean McDonough and Dave Pasch. They can keep 90% of the other garbage. pf9
The dates for the CFP in the 2024 and 2025 seasons were set:https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-playoff-schedule-dates-set-for-2024-2025-seasons-with-field-expanding-to-12-teams/ I think in the 2026 season the time frame for when the CFB regular season is staged will be changed. Week 0 will be moved up to the Saturday that falls between August 16 and August 22, conference championship games will be played Thanksgiving weekend, and Army-Navy the first Saturday of December. This would allow the first round of the CFP to be staged on the second or third Saturday of December depending on how many Saturdays are in December in a given year, the quarterfinals the week after that, and the time frame for the semifinals would return to where it is now, as well as what the time frame is for the NCG.
