@scar988 Saints RB’s over Carolina? How?

Was going to ask the same question. Had Mark Ingram re-signed, I'd agree. But, I don't think the depth of the Saints can make up for how much better McCaffrey is to that entire Saints unit - Kamara included.

To me:

Primary Bellcow: McCaffrey = Kamara = Gurley >>> Jones

Secondary COP: Murray >> Hill > Ogunwbowale > Bonnafon

Tertiary specialist: Montgomery >> Smith > Scarlett > Calais

Saints have the No. 1 for all 3 types of back. It wasn't even close TBH.

I gotta admit, I love Kamara and think when healthy is arguably the most dangerous weapon in the NFL, but Carolina has the RB edge.

Also I think people are sleeping on the Saints DL, especially when healthy.  The Saints were top 5 in both run defense and QB sacks and that won't happen if your DL is crap.

If the Panthers had another back worth a damn, they wouldn't have to overuse McCaffrey.

QB Packers (Rodgers)

RB Packers (I like Jones more than Cook straight up, but they’re also deep)

WR Lions (Golliday & Jones)

TE Vikings (Rudolph & Smith Jr)

OL Lions? (I like Ragnow and Decker)

DL Bears (I’m counting Mack as an edge)

LB Vikings (Kendricks & Barr)

CB Packers (Alexander, King, & Jackson)

Vikings (Smith & Harris)

Packers 3

Vikings 3

Lions 2

Bears 1

Bears only take one position/unit, but they’re probably at least 2nd in everything on defense.

Packers could take OL, but I need to see Wagner return to form.

I don't know about OL.  Packers OL is very good.  One of the best left tackles and centers in the league.  Great young guard.  I'd put them as best OL.  We need to see if Wagner can still play RT, though.

Maybe you could argue safety, too, but that pair in Minnesota is simply elite and proven.  GB's is up and coming.

And don't you think that Chicago has the best tight ends?  They have to get the nod on pure volume at TE, right?  :)

DL is tough if you count edge.  Packers have 2 Smiths with Clark, who is the best lineman in the division.  Maybe that is a toss up with Mack/Quinn/Hicks.  Both are very, very good.

Based on last season it's McCaffrey > Kamara >> Gurley = Jones.  If Kamara and Gurley are healthy then sure, but we gotta put it where we think it is.  Also since McCaffrey is the only one that was able to actually be a true bellcow last season.

Yeah, but every NFL team is a committee nowadays. And it asked about best UNIT. Not best individual player. I think the Saints have the best unit in the division. and I'm a Falcons fan... so that should tell you a lot.

But, do they overuse him? They throw to him a lot because he's the best pass catching back in the league - you don't ignore a skillset as dynamic as that simply because.

He didn't log 300 carries Iast year, so I'm not thinking that as an overuse at all - prior years, his carries never topped 220.

They're using a multi tool star exactly how you should - in multiple ways. If you have a guy who can go 1,000/1,000, you do what you can to get him to the 1,000/1,000, regardless of what your depth looks like at RB.

OT: Patriots

Bro....

Lamar was the MVP last season.

Ben is a HOFer.

Even Baker, despite his issues last season, set the rookie TD record the year before.

Assuming an unproven rookie is better than any of those guys right now is asinine, but including the MVP??

Just a hunch 😎

RET: Rams (Let's just go with them but none of the returners in this division stand out.)

Totals:

AFCS:

QB: Texans, obviously.

RB: Titans. Margin between Henry and everyone else outweighs the depth of other groups IMO. Plus I think Darrynton Evans is gonna be a good one, but I'll admit the two-tone goggles there.

WR: Texans. Before the Hopkins trade this was easily the Texans. Now I almost feel like it's a push between the Titans and Texans, but I'll give the Texans a slight edge here still, as I like their depth better.

TE: Titans. No obvious standouts in the division here, but the Titans have a pretty deep and talented group. Jonnu Smith is hyper-athletic and a dangerous playmaker who needs more touches and consistency, Firkser is a reliable contributor, and Pruitt is a great blocking TE.

OL: Colts. Obvious choice here, imo. They may not have the standout names at OT but as a unit they're the best in the division.

IDL: Colts. Jeffrey Simmons' development and/or Watt staying healthy may make this closer down the line, but right now it's Indy with Buckner.

EDGE: Colts. I'm not counting Ngakoue here otherwise it would obviously be the Jags.

ILB: Push between the Texans and Titans. This one's very close, both the Titans and Texans have really standout 3-man rotations at ILB.

CB: Titans. Jackson and Butler are the best CB duo in the division, Amani Hooker is a solid nickel, and Kristian Fulton will be in the mix.

S: Titans. Byard and Vaccaro are one of the best safety tandems in all of football, forget the AFCS.

K: Uhhh.....not the Titans. Lmao. Not really sure what the other teams' kickers look like.

P: Titans. Brett Kern casually ices playoff games. Enough said.
