Currently just Atkins for us as far as I have seen.   Not critical to our success but will hurt if many opt out.

On one hand, Atkins was firmly a bubble player.

On the other hand, with our DLine we're probably going to be starting bubble players.

They dont get paid if they dont play right?? do we get it part of ou cap? sign someone who wil play?

The players get paid only a small portion if they choose to opt out. I think it's like $150,000 - $250,000. I don't have a hard source on this but this was brought up in either an article or a podcast I was listening to that discussed the cap ramifications. The bigger issue at hand, as I understand it, is that the contract moves into the next season. So if you have a player opt out and you were looking to replace them after this season, that contract will be on your books next year as opposed to this year. So if you sign an aging vet to a 1 year deal and they opt out, you get that guy who is now one year older on your books and it handcuffs your ability to replace them with a younger, cheaper player.

Yeah, thats if we even have a season.  Football just seems so much more difficult than other sports given the number of people involved.  I don't see college happening, and NFL is iffy, at least they get paid to risk their livelihoods.

It could just be the 3 day precaution one. We won't know unless the Stafford's or his agent says anything.

Honestly given Kelly's past health problems and the fact that they just had their 4th child I wouldn't blame Matthew at all if he decided to opt out.

I completely agree. I wouldn't blame him at all. I am split 50/50 on whether I think he will do it. If this is just a precaution and he is on the list for a few days, I don't see it pushing one way over another. If he has COVID then he will probably opt out. Getting it a second time (if that is possible, I haven't heard anything conclusive) or passing it to his family would be a tipping point.

they should have all the teams stay in one state and play on one field and just have games all week...then no covid is spread. if not...no way the season lasts if covid is as serious as cnn says (;

You are talking about over 2,200 players (53 + 16 PS guys per each team). That doesn't even include coaches, staff, etc. Not being able to see family for 22 weeks. Many with young kids. Just not going to happen.
