40Year Pack Fan
It's interesting that Matt LaFleur is sandwiched between two ex-Packers, McCarthy and Pederson
ET80
Bill O'Brien at 15 is too high. He's in that Matt Patricia/Matt Nagy range, despite his division titles...

JAF-N72EX
I won't pretend to know everything about each coach in the NFL but Nagy at 27 is far too low IMO. His play-calling as the OC leaves alot be desired but he is a good HC. He keeps very personal issues away from the media, like he did with Roquan Smith (during a time when nothing seems private) and keeps his guys motivated despite other issues. He changed the culture of this team and it's fan base as is 20-13(playoffs included) as a first time HC and was one missed Parkey FG away from getting a win his first playoff appearance. Jakuvious
I adore Andy. But let's be honest here, no one belongs above Belichick until he retires.

Mr Bad Example
Top Tier: 1) Belicheck .. .. 2) Reid 3) Harbaugh - all 3 of these guys have shown the ability to adjust to the team they have, not the team they want 2nd Tier (6-11 no real order) 4) Tomlin 5) Carroll Arians Payton McCarthy - "whaaat?" some say; and that's fine, but if you object to McCarthy and not to Payton, you may want to look at little closer at how their records compare. I've never quite understood the love that Payton gets vs the scorn that McCarthy gets, when it appears that they are equal coaches...McCarthy's numbers may even be slightly better Shanahan McVay Pederson - I'd probably rather have Shanahan, McVay or Pederson going forward than any of the others, however 3rd tier (12-17 - I may be getting soft in my old age, but I think all of these guys appear to be competent coaches who don't suck....and we're 18 coaches in...I can even see arguments for the 4th tier being not bad, as far as that goes) Vrabel McDermott Zimmer Reich Flores Matt LaFleur 4th tier (18-22) Nagy - probably better than this but the poor bastard has been saddled with Trubisky Rivera Bill O'Brien - it's tough to separate "BO'B, competent NFL coach" from "BO'B, flaming dumpster fire of an NFL GM" Kliff Kingsbury - I rate him this low but his first year in Az was promising Anthony Lynn Gase Tier: Adam Gase - I don't know what to make of this guy. I could never quite figure what was the chicken or the egg in Miami - was Gase mediocre because he was saddled with Tannehill, or was Tannehill mediocre because he was saddled with Gase, or were they both OK but everything else was weak? Despite arguments that NYJ were worse than the historically-bad early season Dolpins, the Jets DID end up a respectable 7-9, despite missing their preferred QB for a big chunk of the season. Gase may be...not terrible? The other side of that coin is Tannehill put up MVP metrics and helped TN advance to the AFCCG without Gase Bottom of the barrel (24-28) Jon Gruden - he was once pretty good, but I'm absolutely not a believer Dan Quinn Vic Fangio - Denver closed well, and added a bunch of offensive talent; maybe he figures it out in his 2nd year? Zac Taylor - probably not ready for a head job and in a crap situation on top of it Doug Marrone - could anyone who isn't in the top 3 on my list succeed in Jacksonville? Probably not. 29) Matt Patricia - worst in the NFL IMO. But he was the subject of one of my favourite ever digs in Deadspin's "Why Your Team Sucks" articles - "he looks like his shirts are sorted by what food stains are on them." So his existence is justified. Matt Stafford deserves better. Edited August 1, 2020 by Mr Bad Example
