Keeping it somewhat recent...

2005 NY Yankees:

3B: A-Rod

DH: Giambi

RF: Sheffield

2B: Cano

SS: Jeter

LF: Matsui

😄 Posada

1B: Tino

CF: Bernie

wRC+ 116

Both the 1997 and 2001 Mariners hit 116 wRC+

The '97 Prime DeathStar was insanity Griffey-Rodriquez-Martinez-Buhner-Sorrento-Cruz Jr. A nightmare for opposing pitchers.

I honestly had to look him up. I never heard of him.

The 1997 Mariners had a great one, that really sticks out to me from my early years.

I think a lot of people sleep on the 2015 Blue Jays.  117 wRC for the team, and Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Donaldson were a murderous trio that year, with 120 HR between the three of them, nearly .400 wOBA from each as well as 148-156 wRC for each individually.  They also got very good season at the plate from Russell Martin behind the plate and they had great years from some of their reserves.

The Mariners had a higher OPS the previous year because A-Rod was insane that season.  That was also the year Juan Gonzalez won MVP with the 17th highest WAR

I don't think 2009 Phillies are amongst most of the teams listed here, but it wasn't too shabby.

1. Jimmy Rollins
2. Shane Victorino
3. Chase Utley
4. Ryan Howard (before he became useless)
5. Raul Ibanez
6. Jayson Werth
7. Pedro Feliz
8. Carlos Ruiz

Of course, in the NL the pitcher has to bat, so that probably won't help statistically. 3-6 all hit 30+ home runs that season. Rollins and Ryan Howard were both MVPs in the past 3 seasons and Utley is probably a hall of famer some day.
