We will have to watch and see. I don't think he'd have the same issues on my team. I think Goff executes that scheme a lot more effectively than Kirk. Goff's anticipation and timing would do really well in that offense. Plus, the number of weapons on this offense is ridiculous. Kittle, Boyd, Robinson, and Kamara is an unbelievable quartet of passing game weapons.

Everyone would have come out ahead if Wash and KC had embraced each other.

Jared Goff emerged as one of the NFL's best QBs. Our HB duo of Alvin Kamara and C.J. Anderson were very effective on the ground this year. C.J. tore it up with the Rams in a ZBS scheme. With us running a ZBS scheme similar to the one he succeeded behind in Denver and LA, we expect C.J. would have made a very effective 1B runner to Alvin Kamara's 1A. In the passing game, as noted earlier, Jared Goff emerged in a major way. However, Goff was not the only player to emerge. George Kittle broke the NFL TE receiving yardage in a season record in his second year. He posted the second best year behind Travis Kelce at the TE position and gave Goff an elite target in the passing game. In addition to Kittle, Tyler Boyd also emerged as a talented receiving option by posting a 1000+ yard season. However, our receiving options didn't end there with Allen Robinson and Alvin Kamara both posting good seasons. Robinson dealt with some health issues, but he has #1 WR talent when healthy. Kamara is one of the best receiving HBs in the NFL. Finally, rookie TE Dallas Goedert gave us solid contributions as a bit of a forgotten man in the passing game. The offensive line is the only question mark on this offense. Our QB play and skill players are outstanding. On paper, the OL has four solid or better starters in Tretter, Whitehair, Brown, and Brown. Tony Bergstrom, our utility OL, also gave the Redskins solid play as a starter this year when he filled in. The only unknown on this OL is Cameron Fleming. He was Dallas' swing OT this year. He played solid football over two starts at LT when Tyron Smith went down. However, we would have needed him to start all 16 games at LT. I think with Fleming getting a little more help than your typical LT, we could get solid play out of him. But my number one goal this off-season is to find a LT. All in all, this looks like a top 5 offense in the NFL. There is balance with the passing game and running game. There is a top flight QB. There are a diverse and incredibly talented group of weapons. And there's a solid OL that should perform well as a group because it lacks liabilities. Defense Defensively, this team also had a major breakout year. It all starts on this defense in the secondary. Richard Sherman continued to be one of the NFL's best CBs in the scheme we play. Marcus Peters struggled with the Rams until they moved to a zone-based defense. He was put in his element, and he finished the year strong. We ran Seattle's zone-based 4-3 Under scheme all year long, so I expect Peters would have had a strong year, especially with the other talented players in this secondary. Desmond King and Jamal Adams were two of the best players in the NFL at their respective positions (SLCB and SS). Eric Reid had a solid year in Carolina, and I like his versatility and physical presence. The biggest advantage is that I hired Kris Richard to run the defense. He's the best DB Coach in the NFL imo. Dallas' DBs were dominant this year with Richard's coaching. The front seven isn't quite as dominant as the secondary, but it's easily a good unit. Kyler Fackrell had a major breakout year posting 10.5 sacks as a pass rushing LB. Sheldon Richardson and Ronald Blair both chipped in with good years (10 sacks combined). Sam Hubbard, a rookie DE, provided good all around play and posted 6 sacks as a rookie. I love his football IQ, relentless effort, and quality play in all phases of the game. Inside, Matt Ioannidis posted 7.5 sacks and was very disruptive as a pass rusher. Johnathan Hankins and Bennie Logan didn't provide much as pass rushers, but they're both well known for being effective run stuffers in the middle. All in all, we had a group that could stuff the run and rush the passer. We didn't have a dominant pass rushing unit, but we had an above average unit with a number of players who can get after the QB. At LB, Leighton Vander Esch had a dominant rookie year. He's already arguably one of the best MLBs in the NFL. He's both outstanding in coverage and run defense. He's exactly what this defense needed. He's our Bobby Wagner. As mentioned before, Kyler Fackrell had a huge year as a pass rusher. Jatavis Brown provided solid play again this year. He's an undersized guy who can get engulfed by blockers, but he's very fast sideline to sideline and is an effective, instinctual player in coverage. All in all, this looks like a top 10 defense. We have a front seven that can stuff the run at a high level and rush the passer at an above average level. We have arguably the NFL's best secondary. I might be conservative by calling this only a top 10 defense. The only thing we lack on defense is a game-changing pass rusher. I am also ecstatic with the hire I made. Kris Richard is getting HC interviews based on his incredible performance in Dallas this year. I thought Seattle was foolish for firing him. I love his aggressive take on Carroll's zone-based C-3 4-3 Under scheme, and he's an incredible developer of DBs. Special Teams There's not a lot that needs to be said here. Zuerlein again was one of the best Kickers in the NFL despite missing a few games with an injury. Michael Dickson performed at a top 5 level as a rookie Punter this year. Our return game was functional, with Desmond King even producing a punt return TD. It's quite clear that we'd have one of the better special teams units in the NFL (if not one of the best). jrry32
I'm currently looking to replace OC Darrell Bevell. As it stands now, I am looking at James Campen as the Running Game Coordinator/OL Coach. I have not yet decided on a passing game coordinator. I am potentially looking to the college ranks and intrigued by some young up and comers, such as Graham Harrell. If Kris Richard is hired by the Dolphins, I am strongly considering Marquand Manuel to replace him, but there are some other names I want to check out too. EDIT: I just saw that Mike Munchak is available. I'm considering him too. Edited January 11, 2019 by jrry32

jrry32
Realistically, I'll say we win our divisional round game and then lose in the championship round. Unfortunately, no Super Bowl this year. I don't think we're strong enough in the trenches yet.
