Besides the TE's and MAYBE the quarterback, nothing has changed from last year and that was incredibly difficult to watch. Until they do take the field in 12 days, all we can go off of is 2019's performance

And by kick in the nuts you mean finding a new job?

Yes. He and Nagy can both go if they miss playoffs again.

The conversation was in relation to SF who ended up as a top 10 offense last season.

Question still stands, what does this offense do well?

We haven't seen a single snap yet. Tough to say what we do well considering we don't even know what kind of attack we are going to present.

We are, however, one of 5 NFL teams to have 2 Pro Bowl QBs on the roster 😘

By the same thinking why are we assuming the defense is going to be good? They haven’t played a snap yet either.

Bad Offense: mostly same players, same coordinator, same scheme.

That's not exactly true. Even though Nagy is still technically calling the shots with play selection he's got guys in there now who have more influence on what those plays will be and who understand the exact type of offense they are trying to run.  Helfrich was just a bad fit overall.

And like you said the TE position is revamped with two new starters who should be upgrades and they replaced Gabriel with two speedy guys in Mooney and Ginn. Also Long replaced with Ifedi.  Those guys should all be upgrades.  How many more did you realistically expect them to make in one offseason?

The offense still might not be good if your standards of good is within top 10 of the league, but they should be a lot better than last year.  If they can at least get to 2018 levels then we could be dancing.

When you upgrade from horrible to bad it is an upgrade, but hardly an improvement.

TE is better and probably an actual improvement to NFL average at a minimum.

The other guys are hardly improvements, unless Mooney pops.

The coaching changes are small moves. This is Nagy’s offense and his play calling.

Ok that's fine but question...who did you realistically believe they could have signed this past offseason that would have really propelled the offense to be as good as you want them to be?

A starting calibre OLmen to play RG.

and/or

A starting calibre OLmen to play RT.

Mediocre QBs can be supported by above average OL play.

I agree with your last statement but who was out there that was a significant upgrade and that you would have been willing to pay to take over at either of those positions?  Conklin, Bulaga, Vaitai, Glasgow, Peat?  Those guys all got bank and are they really that much of an upgrade?

Let's be real, Bears were not going to pay that considering what they already owed to Massie this season (dead cap $10M).

Who knows, maybe Bears like the depth they have in Alex Bars and Lachavious Simmons.

Overhauled TE position, new backup (starter?) at QB, new running scheme and OL coach and brand new offensive coordinator.

This is the polar opposite of what is happening on defense.

Everyone mentioned is a significantly better player than what we have.

Bears handed out close to 70 million in guaranteed  money this offseason. They were not broke and had money to upgrade the line.

Of that list the only guy I would have doled out the cash for is Conklin.  Other than that those other guys aren't worth it IMO.  Bulaga is always hurt.

Maybe they did upgrade the line.  We'll see come week 1.

Glasgow is significantly better than Ifedi.

Fun fact, Conklin is making the same amount as Quinn.
