SemperFeist
I’m through the first half of the game, and woof! But what is the most disheartening, is that it’s pretty evident that Zimmer and his coaches didn’t have a plan to scheme pressure. They knew all along that they weren’t going to have Hunter. They knew that Ngakoue wasn’t going to be ready to go 100%. Yet, it looks like they just went out hoping that who they had out there was going to beat their man on talent alone. There was no pressure off the edge. Rodgers had all day on several throws. Is Ngakoue injured? I heard at one point that he had tweaked his ankle. SemperFeist
Trying not to jump to too many conclusions off of just one game, with no preseason. But when do we start to worry about the defense. This doesn’t look like an issue with simple inexperience. This looks like a game planning issue. And DaVante Adams shouldn’t exactly be surprising this team.

When you combine a weakened DL / pass rush (missing Hunter and Pierce) with an extremely inexperienced set of cornerbacks, and then add in a limited offseason, a complicated defensive scheme, and the fact that you are going against a HOF quarterback.... it is going to be a rough game. Zimmer can't use the same schemes and gameplans with this set of cornerbacks that he used with Rhodes, Waynes and Newman. It seemed like our gameplan was to line up Holton Hill 1-on-1 with Adams like we used to do with Rhodes, and we saw what happened.

I thought that it would be a problem before we signed Ngakoue, and he was irrelevant in this game. If you can't pressure the opposing QB, I don't know how you win going forward. RpMc
Another player who was quite bad today on defense was Eric Wilson; he's credited with 3 tackles, but I saw him miss about five.

Maybe the problem is that Zimmer IS using the same schemes. Teams have caught on and Zimmer isn’t doing enough to change. vikesfan89
I think Hughes should be the 3rd corner back and focus primarily on playing inside
