Jimmy shouldn’t be benched after this, but I think the short leash should start applying. When you’re only TDs are to RBs breaking plays, it’s a problem.

LOL, man what are we doing here? Bad performance but short leash? It's week one, if he's playing like this after four or five games, then sure he can be on a short leash. Weird things happen every week 1, let's see how the team and Jimmy play week 2.

Mullens isn't the answer anyway. You ride or die with Jimmy this year. Nothing can be done. But this team needs to be thinking long term quarterback solution.

Clearly they aren't sold on him, and he's not showing anything that makes him worth keeping at that price point

Next two weeks are largely meaningless to me. Jets and giants, after all. But I agree that there's really not anything to do at this point

So when did James get hurt?

One positive was that Trent Williams was pretty damn great. Chandler Jones was invisible and made no impact minus one sack when he was on the other side.

I'm not going to overreact to this game. First game without preseason but still disappointing how sloppy we played. On to the Jets.....

Funny, I was just thinking about that one positive. Never noticed James at all, he's just not noticeable to me much.

All the griping aside, I agree. No need to overreact to one game or frankly any game. It's just that insignificant really.

At least the Jets game should be a good bounce back game and help us get our feet under us. I had us dropping a game to the cardinals anyways so this isn't unexpected. But yea we looked like garbage. We definitely looked like we never got a chance to shake off the rust.

That’s more or less what I was meaning by short leash. 4-5 weeks and then see where we are. But this game was infuriating.

Also, we often looked much worse at home last year than on the road.

The blocked punt and inability of Mostert to punch it in at the goal line were gut punches.

What's also a problem is having your top two receivers be Bourne and Pettis...who really doesn't count as a receiver at all.

Another thing..line is ok but we clearly miss Buckner.

if Jeudy or Lamb pan out and we went with a dud DT..not gonna feel good.

But it’s one game, just really need to see more from guys not named Bosa, Hyder and AA

I think they need to think about picking some dudes out of FA. Pettis ain’t it.

Mostert had a weird game but yeah, good.  Did Trent give up the sack from Jones?

Juice had a bad block, but good plays.
