RuskieTitan
I'm shocked the Cardinals elected to pay him instead of trading him for a haul of a broken overpaid halfback and second round pick. Puzzling decision.

Lamar did it as well for his rookie deal, but I’m a little surprised Hopkins is doing it on such a huge deal. Hope he doesn’t end up getting screwed over with the details that perhaps his representation will be more on the look out for. If not or if he’s aware of such tricks... very intelligent move to cut out the middle man. How complex are the NFL contracts? He did have a prior non rookie contract and the framework and wording can be very similar with respect to the major/minor clauses for injury and other aspects. He could probably have a lawyer review the language and pay them a flat fee vs a big % of the overall contract.

He missed a couple days but they are most likely vet days. He has practiced like Fitz does. Skip a day every so often.
Oregon Ducks
Just because he's negotiating the deal himself doesn't mean he doesn't have a legal team to look at the contract and advise him.

pwny
If this is the deal he wanted, I kinda understand BoB letting him go. That's a huge step forward ahead of other WR contracts. Edited September 8, 2020 by pwny

Drained
Can I come through and say that if he was demanding nearly 28m per year, then I don't mind that we traded him. That is CRAZY, like QB money right there.

That makes a lot more sense. I take back my comment about understanding BoB moving on for this contract.
Karnage84
This move makes a ton of sense for the Cardinals with the salary cap potentially being reduced next year.
