Though tbf, he also said he thought Madubuike was only expected out for two weeks and it ended up being like double that. Hopefully it won’t matter and Mekari will easily have the RG job wrapped up by that time, so when Philips comes back, he’ll largely be a spectator outside of perhaps the occasional goal line work as an extra OT. We’ll see.

Dez just took his spot on the active roster.

No, Dez is just a practice squad call-up for now. Probably won't be a true member of the active roster for a couple weeks, and even then he's not really replacing Moore since Bryant isn't a core special teams player.

No. I wouldn't have posted that if it wasn't true.

We're going back and forth on minutiae, but here's the excerpt from that article:

Quote

Bryant, a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, was elevated off the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad to their active roster on Saturday, a day before their game at the Indianapolis Colts.

Which means that Bryant's activation is the same as those of Bonds and Welch the past couple weeks and then guys like Jordan Richards and Trystan Colon-Castillo earlier in the season. Bryant is playing and on the active roster, but not the regular 53-man roster yet like Moore was. Zrebiec has a good summary tweet for the moves today:

Good to see Stone possibly getting some time too. The safety group might be thinner than the cornerbacks right now with Levine and Richards as the only depth right now. Neither of those guys are actual safeties you would want to play on defense though.

Missed that. Great to see that he’s back at it. We might have need for an additional ball hawking presence against Rivers and that passing attack. Perhaps he could be used in a Dime Backer roll to help cover the Colts RBs in coverage.

Makes you wonder why we haven't done this sooner, especially given IR is only a minimum of 3 weeks this year with an unlimited ability to bring players off it

Not sure it would have been beneficial. Someone has to be inactive and putting him on the IR just to have someone else be inactive would have some minor cap considerations if I'm not mistaken. Upping a PS player or signing a street FA would put the prorated amount of the minimum salary on the books (with us still being on the hook for Moore's). If you don't need the 53-man spot, I'm not sure there would be a benefit to doing it just because.

This secondary just can't catch a break when it comes to injuries

They were just working a few out. So seems like they should be a bit more ready here for next week. Particularly when you think of it as a Dorsey for Humphrey swap from colts to pats.

bonds picked it up as the game went on, which makes me feel a lot better with him as our fourth corner headed into next week. Pats haven’t done a lot throwing to receivers this year.

Well Khalil Dorsey is out for a few weeks. But Humphrey is supposed to be back according to Harbaugh. I’ll take that trade.

So we’ve got Humphrey, Peters, Smith, and Bonds at corner. We definitely need another corner if at all possible, otherwise we’ll definitely have to run more zone defense if teams go with too many WRs.

Think Avarett is probably only about 2-3 weeks away from coming back too...think they said 5-6 weeks on that injury for him.

Should have Humphrey, Peters, Smith, Avarett, and a more experienced Bonds for the last quarter of the season...not shabby depth if Avarett truly found something when he started to play better before the injury.

If Dorsey goes on IR and Humphrey comes off the COVID reserve list the Ravens will still have two open spots on the 53-man roster. I think there's two open spots on the practice squad too. Could be that the plan is to bring up Stone and maybe Bryant, and that would be four new additions to the practice squad.
