I highly highlyyyy doubt that he keeps quiet

And I highly doubt gase would listen even if JD said something. gase only listens to himself because he knows better than everyone.

Regardless, do you really believe JD would call down to the field and demand Becton be put in? Or Sam?

Don't be absurd.  Move on.

Jets offensive rankings

Total: 31st

Run: 26th

Pass: 32nd

Scoring: 31st

Darnold averaging 198 yds/gm, has more INTs than TDs (3tds, 4ints)

Yup, offense stinks. No doubt. But...

The Bills Colts and 49ers have top 10 defenses.

the Jets were working with very limited talent at the WR, RB and apparently the TE positions. Chris Hogan has more snaps than any other WR on our team....Kalen Ballage has about 30% of the offensive snaps for this team...

The Jets o-line had players miss time at LT C and RT.

He played the 3/4 of the 4th game with a sprained shoulder.

What are your expectations for any QB put in that situation?

Does Sam Darnold need to improve? Yup, he does. He cant miss some of the wide open throws that he has failed to connect on. That said, those misses are amplified here because the receivers are losing their battles so frequently that if he misses an open throw, like all QBs will do from time to time, there generally won't be a receiver open on the next play to make for it. This has the effect making Sam think he needs to be perfect on every play, which create hesitation. That coupled with poor blocking up front forces him to bail out of throws too quickly.

With healthy WRs, a decent line, and some more creative playcalling(maybe not just HB plunges on first and second down, add in some motion) going against defenses that are closer to average than elite, Sam can rebound a rebuild some confidence and trust.

Seems like a new excuse every week. 1st few weeks were bc we played good defenses (SF defense was banged up when we played them). Then now it’s Sam’s shoulder was injured so that’s why against DEN. Now it will be bc we don’t have Sam. And let me state the excuse about lack of weapons. Yes I agree our weapons are awful. But getting healthy guys back, isn’t like getting great players back. We’re talking about Perriman and Bell here. Bell who’s looked awful under Gase. And Perriman who’s done nothing. And Mims hadn’t even taken an NFL snap yet. This isn’t getting back Hopkins, Hill and MCaffrey we’re talking about.

Do you think that maybe it feels like there are excuses every week because the team sucks every week? Like, the team didn't magically get better in between weeks, rather it got worse. So something that was a valid explanation as to why aspects of the team's struggles in week 1 would still be a valid explanation in week 2 or three? If you have a car with bald tires and you try to drive it in the rain, its gonna slide around.... If you take the car out in the rain a second time without fixing the tires... guess what, still going to slide around and probably be ever worse because the tires have even less tread. Same thought process applies to the Jets offense. The WR's weren't great in week 1, then they all got hurt. The RB's didn't play well week 1, then Bell went down. The offensive line didn't play all that great against the Bills, then they got hurt too. the quality of the defenses thru the first three weeks were all in the top 10. Why would you think a team that is only getting worse would suddenly play better against similarly good defenses?

As for the talent level of the players returning not being All-pro level? Of course not, but there is a huge difference between Kallen Ballage and Leveon Bell.

As for WRs, would you rather:

Chris Hogan, Braxton Berrios, Josh Malone and litterally no one else

or

Jamison Crowder, Breshaud Perriman, Denzel Mimms(also Jeff Smith and Vyncint Smith) and the guys listed above?

Really, what are/were your expectations? Did you really think Sam was going to overcome all this BS and look like the perfect QB? If you want to peel back his stats, the first pick 6 thrown by Darnold against the Colts was a direct result of Cager not properly running a dang curl route. The QB has to throw that ball in advance expecting the WR to make a sharp curl back and fight for the ball. He didn't and instead it resulted in an interception. The int in the endzone was due to a DB forgetting where he was supposed to be playing then adjusting. The QB reads the coverage and sees that CB vacating, which would lead to an open receiver. The DB then immediately changes direction, something that couldn't be predicted when diagnosing the coverage. The third pick was AWFUL. Terrible throw by Sam. 100% his fault. Sam also lost a TD on a drop in the endzone by Herndon in the 49ers game. Also, your passing stat breakdown completely disregards his 47 yard scamper. I'd understand ignoring a qb sneak TD, but not that play.

My expectations were for a healthy squad and for some progression (especially on offense). Instead there’s been a HUGE regression.
