Do  we go dt round 1 because they are harder to find?

I like togiai as a run stuffer I thought the played well, but he is underwhelming as a dt 1.

Jordan elliot hasn't shown much beyond knocking that kicker into 2023

We desperately need a starting caliber DT, whether that's draft or free agency. Jordan Elliott is a JAG in my opinion and has been extremely underwhelming. Togiai is a great rotational piece and 2 down DT/off the field in pass rush situation type. If we lose Clowney, we just went from having one of the best EDGE situations in the NFL and a quality DL to one of the worst outside of Myles in the entire league. Parlay that with our grotesque linebacker situation outside of JOK, and that's a recipe to get run all over and not get to the passer, while Woods (who proved me wrong down the stretch) send very few blitzes...it's going to be a train wreck.

We need to go all in on Clowney and Ward, and then if we can't address the DT spot in free agency, we should look at the kid from Texas A&M or target another interior DT in Round 2.

TBH, I was kind of on the fence about getting a Dean in R1 or even the A&M kid R1 anyway while adding WR in Rounds 2 and 4 after a free agent signing.

We need to go BPA at WR, DT, DE, or MLB (not necessarily in that order).

If we go BPA at any of those spots, it's the right move.

Just draft the bpa Buckeye imo.

This is always the correct answer, and they should do it every round.

In all seriousness, how sad is it that for an 18+ year period of time that would have set us up infinitely better in so many areas?

It won't happen this way....but we could really shore up the front 7 in the first 3 rounds of the draft potentially, and try and fix the WR position in FA.

Rd 1.  Nakobe Dean LB -paired next to JOK...just scary

Rd 2.  Phidarin Mathis DT- big guy in the middle, from a school that produces D-lineman

Rd 3.  Nik Bonitto DE- Undersized/pass rushing specialist, that could come in on 3rd downs, while moving Clowney inside

Rd. 4 Ty Fryfogle WR- finally grabbing a WR to go with whomever we grab in FA.

Wasn't that McDowell who did that?

The allure of having that type of firepower on defense with personnel groupings in big nickel and dime is awesome, but like you said, it won't happen. I like Fryfogle as he intrigues me in the mid rounds, but so does Justyn Ross. I can't see us not addressing the WR spots early (and maybe often) after this year, Baker or not.

I feel like we are going to double down in all the positions mentioned!  The ? is how much money will we allocate to each position in FA, and what type of draft capital are we going to use to strengthen those positions.

The more I think about it, I want them to try and fill up the WR spots in FA and move back in the draft. Collect capital and fill up on BPA. Clowney is priority #1 and #2 IMO then sign Ward to an extension.

If they are collecting draft capital (and I wouldn't be surprised)  methinks it would be to make a move in next year's draft....for a QB!

I'd sign Clowney and extend Ward.

If they want to find some dudes at the WR spots who are capable and roll the dice on that spot later while adding some major players to other areas, while building that war chest, sign me up.

Good chance they need to use a war chest to land a top tier QB or QB prospect come 2023 draft time anyway.
