It pretty much went from most running a wishbone to a spread offense. There just aren't enough good college QBs to run a pro style offense, they turn it over too often. You have to have a scheme in place that you can fit the players you bring in. It isn't the minor leagues. Basically between the end of Tom Osbornes Cornhuskers and the start of Urban winning at Florida. That was the golden era of developing Pro style offenses. Not a coincidence that’s when guys like Brady, Manning, and Brees were developed. I agree with you that there aren’t enough good QBs. I’d say there’s maybe 7-10 legitimately decent / good QBs every year. A lot of these dudes get to pad their stats versus bad teams and get stomped in bowl games. The NFL is never going to change. You can’t just dumb it down and make things easier. You have to be able to read coverages. NFL defenders are professionals getting paid a LOT of money to be smart too. Kiwibrown
I hate this offense. Watson arm is cooked. Oline coach is unprepared. Amari cooper is a 10 million dollar reciever being paid 25 Wils is made from glass. Dawand is awful. Njoku is out. At this point, you could argue he's the biggest bust in NFL history. At the very least, a top 3-5 bust. I never liked him as a prospect and fully believed CJ should have been the first pick, but I didn't expect him to be this bad.

The coaches clearly, clearly wanted Stroud and were very ticked when he wasn't the pick.

With Snyder gone, Haslam is the only owner that comes even close to being as bad as Tepper.
