We ain't drafting ressua or whatever his name is from maimi.

Berry wont touch a poor athlete in the 1st.

Looking at what we got in the 1st two rounds of last years draft, we got guys that were great players, great athletes from big programs.along with being smart, tough and accountable.

We passed up on that monster tackle mecki Becton for a safer pick in our Jedrick Wils.

We are looking at an athlete who can play.

Berry's free agency tactic is a little different, we pay good money for guys who produce e, like hooper and jj3 and bet on failed 1st rounders like takk and karl joesph

Also I am expecting us to drop down in the draft if we can for future assets.

Maybe pick up a 2and next year and get into the 2and round this year.

We’re saying Gregory Rousseau is a poor athlete now? What do you want from a DE who is 6’7 265LB? Maybe if we were talking about taking the guy top10 but this pick #26.

he is a very raw athlete and would find him in a very good situation to develop. I believe whoever we drsft will be the 4th maybe 5th best pass rusher on the team becuase of Garrett Richardson Malik and potentially Takk. So now you can focus on putting him in favorable situations early on and not just throwing him to the wolves. If you want to, he can benefit by not being doubled when he is on the field. The dude might not be the best pass rusher but he is one of the better ones at edge contain and has the versatility to play inside with his size to create mismatches

It was ok...but he had by far the weakest arm of a QB that I know of ever drafted that high.

I don’t like Mac Jones. But he’s not Drew Bledsoe combined with Colt McCoy’s arm like I hear some people thinking he is.

Chad Pennington? Mac Jones has a solid arm. It’s not spectacular, but it’s more than sufficient. He has a solid B for arm talent. Let’s not make him out to be a complete and utter joke in that department.

Yep. Very immobile, average arm, catchable ball with touch, will have issues driving it into windows on the intermediate routes and outside of the numbers in the 8-12 yard throws as well.

Hi, I'm Phillip Rivers, and I'm here remind you of me.

I'm sticking with my Pennington comparison. I will also listen to a poor man's Phillip Rivers or poor man's Matt Ryan.

Yeah Rousseau doesn’t bend the edge like Garrett, but he’s a different player. He plays with violent hands and is slippery. It’s extremely hard for OT’s to get their hands on him because he uses such an effective swim. He’s also excellent at twists and can move seamlessly from an A gap to a B or C gap before the OL can react.

Not to mention, Rousseau is great against the run, he’s young, and led the nation in sacks (or was 2nd IIRC?). And he did all of this as a freshman.

He won’t ever overwhelm OTs with pure speed, but he will overwhelm them with length, finesse, and counters. Rousseau is way more intriguing to me than a guy like Ojulari, who can only win with speed and isn’t a fit to play on the TE side of a formation.

We need a base LE. I think we’re gonna want Rousseau, Oweh, Phillips, and Turner...in that order. Ojulari and Ossai are specialists, not fits for our base defense, which had a glaring hole.

Rivers didn’t have a horrible arm. It devolved over time, but he had a nice arm coming out. All the talk about Rivers was related to his subpar athleticism (no1 cared about it in 2004) and his wonky 3/4 throwing motion.

Matt Ryan makes more sense. A poor version, as you stated. I just watched my boy Azeez Ojulari against Bama and Mac Jones dotted the UGA defense up with deep shots. He can get the ball deep, but he doesn’t have a lot of ZING on his throws underneath. Like, he struggles to hit those deep comebacks that Josh Allen is so good at because the ball kind of floats for him.

Cannon? No.

Pea Shooter? Also, no.

He has a slightly below average arm and slightly below average athleticism. Processing ability is above average, but the absurdity of talent he had to work with made him look infinitely better. You could have plugged literally any starting D1 QB into that role and they would have went undefeated.

We truly have no idea how well Jones can read a defense. He is a talented QB who was also surrounded by one of the most talented offenses in the nation. He has one of the biggest ? On him because of that. How good is he really...

Personally, I think he is QB5 and should be drafted at the bottom of the 1st round Tina QB needy team. I have no idea at what point he went from that, to being potentially drafted top 3

It was very comparable. He had a subpar arm for a Top 5 guy. It was average at best with elite ball placement and a super weird and elongated throwing motion. Granted, when you have the 2 best deep route receivers in the nation and the best rushing attack, those play-action bombs are going to be college open regularly. Waddle and Smith make it easy.

Yeah, like I said, those intermediate routes and deep comebacks, outs, and digs in the 12-15 yard range are going to expose him IMO.

I think his arm is average AT BEST.

I think he's got VERY below average athleticism. Aside from his statuesque ability, he's not exactly Thor:

The issues I have with him, aside from the above that I've already said, are that:

1. He only has 1 year of production, which always scares me. You have some outliers (Cam, Burrow, etc.), but as a whole, this usually scares me.

2. The weapons he had at his disposal were ridiculous. Parlay that with him being THE REASON they lost to Auburn last year, the fact that he was, at best, the 5th or 6th best player on his own side of the ball (Smith, Waddle, Harris, Leatherwood, perhaps 1 other OL), and that shows me he hasn't proven to elevate anyone. Playing with all of that talent certainly is not his fault, but you can't say the same for other guys like Cam who had NO ONE ELSE play a single NFL snap on offense, Matt Ryan and Phillip Rivers at BC and NC State, etc.

3. He completed a large portion of his passes in the 0-5 yard windows and then the 5-8 yard crossing routes, with then a huge drop off rate and adding in some bombs downfield, which makes sense given the stacked boxes he saw to stop Harris and company. It's very similar to the concerns many had with Haskins at OSU.

Now, he may prove me wrong and succeed, and I don't think that he's necessarily going to be a huge bust, but I see a guy with as low of a ceiling at that position to be propped up that high in quite some time, with an above average floor, and he will need an elite OL and running game to help him be successful.

I won't say he is a poor athlete, but I can see where you are going. He is a risk and knowing Berry, we are far from being in the position to be taking risks like this at such a high pick.

Plus I think analytics go against him, and conversely, I could see analytics probably say a guy like Oweh might be a smarter move due to upside.

He was as deathly accurate a QB not named Peyton Manning. People knew he had a weak arm and he still would drop dimes.

I think his arm is getting discredited a lot and ppl forgot pre-injury arm strength. The dude wasn’t Farve with the arm strength but it was strong enough that his pin point accuracy worked in NY and the rest of the AFCE for divisional games. If he was a dome team, he could have had an even better career

I'm betting we draft an offensive linemen in the top 4 picks as insurance for teller leaving and forbws not working out.

I'd sooner keep teller over obj and I think they will command a si ilair price.

I hope not to all of that. We should go insanely heavy on defense. Future be damned right now. It’s winning time right now.
