RaidersAreOne
No franchise tag situation in Minnesota: Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook and the #Vikings have agreed to a 5yr, $63M extension, sources tell @RapSheet and me. After just 29 career games, Cook locks in over $28M guaranteed.
Vikes_Bolts1228
Good! Now run over GB tomorrow in celebration!
RpMc
Well, I was wrong again! Did not expect them to be able to get a Cook deal done... I should know better by now to doubt the Brz.
JDBrocks
Ugh. Without seeing how it is structured, seems like too much.
RpMc
Has to be another move coming; that averaged out signing bonus would put us over the cap for this year.
vikesfan89
How? That's a pretty long contract for a running back. Hopefully he lives up to it
Heimdallr
Really not a lot of guaranteed money for the contract length, and Overall it is noticeably less than Elliot and Kamara. Looks pretty fair to me

This offseason we’ve seen QBs sign for ~$40M per year. We’ve seen edge rushers, offensive tackles, cornerbacks, and wide receivers sign for well over $20M. Even tight ends are signing for $15M. $12M for a top tier running back is on par with what other positions are getting.

Kparty15
This is a great contract! I was afraid it would be closer to $15M per year! We got a steal compared to that Kamara contract!

RpMc
Freed up 4.5M in cap space with this move; more than enough to fit Cook's new SB under the cap.

babababa
Very happy for Cook. He needed a deal going into this season. Pretty excited.
