patriotsheatyan
He had a statistically good season and went 11-3 in 2018. Last season he posted below average (but still not the worst) numbers of an offense that was weak at every level. He had a good game today. Is he done? Can he become an average QB? blkwdw13
He didn't have a good game today, it was on par for him actually which is inconsistent. It was very inconsistent through three quarters and then played very good in the fourth.
Rodjahs12
Whatever buys him more games I’m fine with. That comeback today probably bought him another 3 games or so.

He was awful for 3 quarters, but that 4th quarter and subsequent win (on a Detroit rookie dropping a game winner, no less) will have everyone completely forgetting how bad the first 3 quarters where, or how this is exactly how his whole career has been thus far....
TecmoSuperJoe
History isn't on his side, but anything is possible. Mitch also threw 6 touchdowns against the Buccaneers two years ago. Even if he has a good year, so did Scott Michell and Erik Krammer. So did Jeff George. Bill Kenney. Wouldn't be sold on anyone until they give you three quality seasons at least. Edited September 14, 2020 by TecmoSuperJoe
SBLIII
I guess average is possible but what does that accomplish? The Bears don't have the elite defense anymore. They need to find a real QB.
baconrad11
No. Not really. I think he is what he is. His inability to throw to the left side is baffling and inexplicable. I'm not sure it's something he can improve or learn. If he hasn't even been able to grasp how to throw in that general direction by now...... lancerman
Mitch is the type of QB most organizations hold out hope for and then 3-4 years down the line have nothing to show for it when they finally admit what everyone else knew

Literally the week after this became a talking point he threw 3 TDs to his left. 1 of the 3 yesterday was to his left. He throws to his left plenty. Like most right handed QBs he is more comfortable throwing to his right. Now if you wanted to get specific and say to his left 10+ yards and outside the numbers, You would have an argument as his comp% is significantly worse on those specific passes vs the opposite side of the field.
Ty21
If Trubisky in the 4th quarter of last game was 24-7 Trubisky he’d be a top 15 qb in the league. Unfortunately he’s not and pretty much always will be inconsistent and miss embarrassing throws even though accuracy was his biggest strength coming out of college. Soooo no
Spartacus
People are missing some context to that 4th quarter comeback. The lions didn't have 3 starting CBs in the 4th quarter and I believe had lost two starters just during the game.

I just hope Trubisky settles in a little better in the end
