Yeah I think Mahomes has it right now, especially looking at the schedule for the Cards/Hawks/Packers. But there are 7 weeks left and anything can happen.

Agreed seven weeks is an eternity. I think once Week 13 or so completes and we are down to four weeks left, then we might see some tightening and clear front runners.

It’s not Most Valuable Passer, though. It’s Most Valuable Player. Rushing does play a factor in QB play, especially in cases like Murray’s. 

Lamar didn’t win MVP last year because he lit the league up through the air like Mahomes did in 2018. He won it because he had a very good, very efficient year passing and also destroyed teams on the ground.

On that, we agree.

Although in reality, I'm pretty sure that if Rodgers, Wilson and Murray went down this week, none of them would win a game the rest of the year, while the Chiefs could still win some games without Mahomes. But that's devolving the MVP conversation into NBA territory.

Just curious, but why would Garrett be on your list and not Aaron Donald? Rams have a top 2 defense, and really the best scoring defense by a good margin if you remove defensive/ST TDs allowed, he has close to the same number of sacks, and in taking on triple teams on Sunday, allowed other Rams defenders to sack Wilson 6 times.

That is true, but in the context of Murray vs Wilson - Murray has the Cards first in the division via tiebreaker over Wilson’s Seahawks. Was mostly using Lamar to point out how rushing voters don’t vote on MVP strictly by passing numbers.

Donald is getting close, but 1) Donald Feasted on the NFCE being the main reason... four garbage OL's and four subpar teams, 2) Garrett is the sack leader currently and leads the league in pressures and 3) I feel Garrett has had a bigger impact on the Browns being 6-3 than the Rams being 6-3.

They're your rankings obviously, but the Browns have beaten the Bengals, Texans, Cowboys, FT and the Colts - that's one good win and then five wins against some pretty bad teams (including two from the NFCE). He also has 7 sacks against the Bengals, Cowboys and FT. Just 2.5 I'm their other five games.

And their defense is also pretty bad overall.

Meanwhile thanks to AD, Leonard Floyd has 7 sacks in 9 games
