I don’t wanna keep hiring coaches because of a system or they had success with superstars. This franchise needs a CEO HC. Someone you demands accountability. I want players to be afraid of the HC like they were with Parcells. I know times have changed but that kind of presence still can’t work. Curtis Martin played hurt his entire career out of fear of losing his job to the next man up. Mangini was getting there. Players that cared about and had character. I would take that guy back in a heartbeat. Agreed. As much as I disliked Coughlin as a coach he's exactly the type the Jets need. We don't need an offensive or defensive specialist. We need a coach. Parcells sure as hell got the best out of his players. I thought we had it with Mangini then we gave it up. Rex Ryan was great in the beginning because the players loved him and wanted to play for him. The problem was his message got old and he wasn't being a coach. Plus plenty of bad draft picks and personnel decisions.

Reid is saying he's ready so I trust him.

I'll take the guy that demands the most of his players and makes them pay more attention to detail, whether hes a hard *** or not. Bienemy might be a great choice and if he is then great. I just dont want another hot coordinator that just can call plays...that wont change a thing. We need the entire team buying in, right now nobody is buying in and it shows. Rex got players to buy in. I would take that in a heartbeat over how bad its gotten.

Give me the guy with a proven offensive scheme that we know can bring the best out of its players. Bieniemy or Daboll are two well respected OCs with proven track records. Give me one of them and I'll be happy.

I know you are a Gase fan but he didn't bring Payton Manning with him and what Daboll is doing with Allen is pretty impressive. Just getting him to be a functional QB is impressive in itself. I mean at this point it's either Gase or Sam if this trend continues and I'm not ready to give up on Sam. Maybe a guy like Bieniemy can unlock Sam like Gase is failing to do. But it's highly unlikely we give up on Sam regardless of who is HC. Some might not want to hear that after the way he played. But its more than likely true. My guess is we are drafting in the top 5, Gase gets fired and we stick with Darnold. Hopefully with 3 high quality picks and some cap we can turn this franchise around on offense. I'm talking several WRs, a RB and OL. Not a piece here or there. I'd rather field a below average defense next year and revamp the whole offense to at least NFL caliber. Sam might just be bad.
KingOfNewYork
How many times do people have to see guys running open and Sam missing them to stop blaming everyone except him.

Pretty much. The biggest problem with our last game was Darnold. We’re starting to see some of the film breakdown and it’s worse then I expected. If Darnold flops, Gase should go though. They are tied at the hip.
KingOfNewYork
And that’s not even me saying Gase is good because he’s done nothing as of now to show he’s the guy but Darnold was so bad week 1 in situations he should have been better in

However another pathetic season should get Gase canned. We have to be better, can’t keep digging holes both in game and in season.
SDotNova
Another guy to add to the list is our very own Gregg Williams. He’s the rare guy that is tough on players yet seems to be loved by players. He holds guys accountable. Benched Desir in the 1st half. Did the same with Austin last year. Other guys I think we should look at Greg Roman OC Baltimore Eric Bieniemy OC KC Joe Brady OC Carolina Dave Toub STC KC Lincoln Reily HC Oklahoma Edited September 15, 2020 by SDotNova
