In pre-game Kosar said that the conditions (rain but not much wind) would be very good to throw in.

I agree, if you are 6' 5" and can read defenses, which Mayfield is not and cannot.

A number of times he progressed through his read, his pass to higgins going out was excellent, he read the defense and moved up the pocket and made an extremely difficult throw.

Bernies career completion split in November and December is 58.5%  baker in those months is 63.5%  baker also has a better QB rating over those 2 months than Bernie

Not like Bernie was very good at throwing it in the similar weather.

so just because Bernie said doesn’t make it gospel

What happened on the 50% that weren't completed?

No, but I agree with him for two reasons:

1. A receiver knows where he is going and a DB doesn't. In sloppy conditions, advantage receiver. And,

2. A QB knows where the receiver is going. Should be advantage QB, if he sees the open receiver.

The Higgins throw was a roll out. Which he’s always been good at. He needs to be better in the pocket.

Some missed throws in the wet which is a acceptable.

1 dropped pass from.njoku, a number of throw aways which is a really good play compared to a sack or int.

He throw a few tight balls and they didnt land, that happens.

The other team is still allowed to play good.

Baker threw a pass on higgins back shoulder which was broken up, it was a decent throw an ok route and good coverage. It happens.

They also collapsed our pocket a few times and that pressured the throw and causes a miss. Sometimes it happens.

Hodge went off his route once which would have been, or could have been a  deep td.

In conditions like this it useful to compare Baker to the other qb, Wentz had more yards, bit baker threw the ball better imo.

He was much better than watson last week and I thought he was better than carr as a thrower but not a runner.

3 weeks in a row that he has out played the other qb. 1 is the second highest paid in the nfl, the other 2 were former mvp candidates, 2016 and 2018.

Elway's career completion % = 56.9%.

And he in HOF.

Times have changed.

Comparing an 80s QB to a today QB is like comparing a land line to a mobile device.

And at some point Mayfield has to be more accurate.

He missed a few too many today, but he also threw some absolute dots too.

I'm happy to give him a pass on that due to the conditions.

He is playing better than last year, he is being coached.

Next week will be a test of his improvement, he is playing in Florida, so it should be some good weather. Though knowing our luck ot will be a cyclone or something.
