rf54
Here is our remaining schedule, those of you who are adamant about not tanking how many wins do youe see? I see maybe 3 games where the current Vikings would be favored by more than 3. Getting Hunter back on the field and Ngakoue up to speed will help but if the game is on the line do you trust the current CBs to make a stop? 2 @indianapolis colts3 tennessee titans4 @houston texans 5 @seattle seahawks 6 atlanta falcons7 bye week8 @green bay packers9 detroit lions10 @chicago bears11 dallas cowboys 12 carolina panthers 13 jacksonville jaguars 14 @tampa bay buccaneers15 chicago bears16 @new orleans saints17 @detroit lions

Only three people need to know, the Head coach, the GM, and the owners. Yes the owners need to have approval or the coach and GM are at very high risk of losing their jobs. The players have too much to play for, but the coach and the GM can make subtle changes and bada bing bada boom, you are sitting at 2-14. Changes like rookies getting lots of playing time, not addressing glaring needs in the offseason, control of the gameplan, control over what is emphasized in film, etc. Nothing like the plan to destroy your locker room and all credibility.

Everyone said the dolphins were tanking and didn't they end up with the 5th ? Which they ended up using on the player that they were supposedly tanking for anyways
vikesfan89
at one point wasn't there talk about the vikings needing the first overall pick for teddy?

Remember when nobody knew who the hell Joe Burrow was? My point being is that A LOT can change over one college football season. The consensus #1 pick could get hurt, play poorly. Some projected 4th round pick could break out and be the next Joe Burrow. You don't tank in week 1. There's too many moving variables. If you're 3-10 in week 13, sure....go for it. Besides, most teams that are walking into a season expecting to tank rarely get the first pick anyways. Remember when Miami was a shoe-in for the #1 to draft Tua? Both them and Tua ended up at 5. RpMc
I don't know if I've ever been more proud of our fanbase than I have been while reading through this thread. I don't know who that says more about though... Cheers to not tanking.

They're not oblivious morons. And @Heimdallr, folding and coming back is reserved for the Timberwolves now...and as was learned from the North Stars-Wild situation, that never works. This is such a weird argument....lol If the FANS know a team is tanking to win, why do people think the players/agents are oblivious to it? For example: The Jags get rid of their RB1, DE1, and are starting an "iffy" QB behind center. Fans KNOW they're punting on the season. But this guy thinks that the players are sitting there thinking "The front office is really making some moves to get us into the playoffs!" They know damn right they're selling off to rebuild. These players don't live in some bubble (no, not a 2020 COVID bubble) where they don't see what their front office is trying to do. They're very aware....more so than fans. It's one thing to rebuild and look towards the next year. The Jaguars are still trying to win with the players they do have though right? Let's be honest....having a high draft pick (or even #1) is about the most exciting off-season thing ever and we'd all be amped if we got a top-5 pick.... BUT....to start thinking about that #1 pick and root for tanking at 0-1? Like I said.....if we get to a point where we're not going anywhere and have no hope....sure, go ahead a root for the pick rather than 6-10 or whatever.
