Blade runner: The final cut.

Got to watch that before the new one this week. Its been forever since Ive seen the original, and I dont think Ive seen the final cut, which is the definitive one according to what Ive read on the internet.

I'll have to watch this to. Never really gave the original a chance and stopped watching after about 20 mins.

Gerald's Game on Netflix.

One of the better recent Netflix films. Carla Gugino was very good.

I just watched this the other day, and I agree: it was one of the better Netflix original films. It certainly helps that it was based off a Stephen King novel.

I've thought about watching the Blade Runner Final Cut because I've been told it's significantly better.  I'm a Ridley Scott fan, generally a sci-fi fan, and a huge Harrison Ford fan, but I hated Blade Runner the only time I've ever watched it.  Damn near fell asleep during it.

Yeah, same here. Wasnt a fan of the original, but I dont remember anything about it. I bought the Final Cut on Amazon, so Ill give it a watch this week before heading into the new one.

Just watched Get Out.

Boy is that one f'd up story line. I found the ending kinda predictable, but even so it was incredibly well done and had something to say beyond what I imagine the typical thriller/horror movie does (I'm not a huge fan of the genre, nor a big movie watcher, so haven't watched all that many)

Regarding the ending:

The original ending was supposed to be far darker. The cops show up and he simply gets arrested. Understanding the events and how the evidence is burnt in the house, this means he almost certainly would be convicted of murdering the family. Way better ending IMO. His buddy showing up was below the film, definitely a change the execs wanted to make.

Anyhow, I watched Blade Runner Final Cut last night. Wow. Such an aesthetically beautiful movie. The sets and detail still rank top 5 all time. There are some cringy scenes, but that's to be expected for a 35 year old movie. I forget how charismatic Ford is on screen, even without saying much. And wow, dude was 40 in that movie. Found myself talking to the GF about how good he looked for 40, lol. Goals.

Going to Blade Runner 2049 tonight in IMAX. Stoked.

Watched Blade Runner again. Probably first time in a decade, and I still think its bad.

The shots are gorgeous and ahead of their time, and its a great score, but thats probably the only things good I can say about the movie.

The acting is horrible and cringeworthy. There really isnt much of a story, and it just kind of wanders around for two hours. Its just boring. I wanted to cut it off multiple times, but I powered through.

I doubt Ill be seeing the new one in theaters.

A Ghost Story

Man, its been a while since a movie made me feel like this one. This movie definitely isnt for everyone. It demands a lot of its viewer. Its a slow burn, and I do mean slow and you really dont know where the movie is going until the last 30 minutes, but it hits it out of the park once it gets there. It will definitely end up as one of the best of the year for me.

I just got done watching this and came here to say how terrible it is. To each their own.

It got good reviews, so obviously people liked it. But it was torture for me trying to get thru it. So much audible and lack of dialogue, it was just unbearable at times.

I feel like I deserve a medal for making it thru the whole thing.
