THE DUKE
Watched The Beatles: Get Back on Disney+ and loved it. It's a great inside look on both them making an album/show, but you also see all the divisions that were there at that point pretty clearly that led to them breaking up the following year. Seeing the process makes me appreciate Ringo a little more than before in terms of trying to keep everyone friendly and cohesive and not bringing nearly the ego into it that the other three did. Rock solid drummer too, if not flashy. It's too bad they didn't listen to Ringo about making it a concert for the people of London in a place where they really could have played a full concert and not been cut short like they were on the rooftop studios. John and George clearly did NOT like getting feedback from Paul about the songs that Paul wrote and how they should be played, and at the end of the day Paul wanted what was in his head and wasn't too keen on compromising on that. What was most interesting was Paul seeing the issues they had pretty much spot on, but if he didn't push to keep them moving, seemingly no one would which was just as intolerable for him. He didn't want to be "the boss" or "leader" or anything like that but no one else stepped up. Seems like they couldn't accept anyone that wasn't Brian Epstein. Paul's talent really shined through this on documentary. Almost 7 hours in length over the three parts there were a few times where it slogged along, but for how much was put together here, it really was fascinating for a large section of it. Yoko is just the worst. My god her voice was annoying when she was trying to be avant garde with her screeching. Linda McCartney's three year old was less annoying. The rooftop concert was amazing, pretty much the first time I had seen the entire thing. It's a shame the cops and the cold stopped it, would have loved to have seen all the tunes they had been working on in those sessions. The energy of playing live where people could hear definitely energized them during the performance. They wrote all of Let it Be and pretty much 2/3 of Abbey Road in a month. Crazy. Ozzy
Doctor Sleep Rebecca Ferguson as Rose the Hat is outstanding, easily one of the best villains recently. Doctor Sleep is really a sweet movie, maybe went a little too much in the past with the previous film and flashbacks, but overall it is pretty damn good and Rose the Hat is awesome.

It’s not one of the more rewatchable movies I’ve seen probably but I thought it was pretty well done as far as King source material movies go. Well honestly in terms of Stephen King source material, few if any authors have created more great movies than Stephen King. The top five or six movies here are some of the best films ever made arguably. Sure not all follow exact to the book but all are outstanding on film, and I am sure I forgot some others. No other author or even screen writer has this solid of a track record in terms of films. The Shawshank Redemption The Shinning The Green Mile Stand By Me Carrie Pet Sematary Misery Dolores Claiborne Storm of the Century Doctor Sleep The Dead Zone Hearts In Atlantis Children of the Corn The Mist The Night Flier

Could argue Stephen King is the best author alive to date, few if any authors could make that many books or short stories into successful feature films like they have done and continue to do with Stephen King's work. Oh and I forgot "It" which they have now made two successful franchises out of it from two different time periods, I do tend to lean toward the Tim Curry clown who I feel overall is a better character and a bit more scary as well. Also Rose Red was not bad as a mini series, and The Stand they also made two successful franchises out of it as well in two different time periods. The Secret Window is not bad either as a film and The Outsiders is pretty damn awesome especially the first few episodes.

Every stand iteration sucks lol. I’d definitely agree he’s the best songbird of the generation. The next best option for accessible successful authors might be JK Rowling but she’s absolutely lost her touch.

I have not seen the new one yet of The Stand, hopefully it does not suck but maybe it will. JK Rowling? That lady that made the Harry Potter books? Impressive sure but not really comparable, all those movies/books had pretty much the same characters in them. Sure was an impressive series but really it is not even the same thing. King's list of films, each one was totally separate and different from the rest with completely different stories and characters, they were all completely new ideas compared to previous books more often than not. Not sure JK Rowling could pull that off, she had a good idea and bleed that out all the way you could and profited greatly from it. Not even comparable in my view are those two in terms of creativity and volume.

Yeah there is probably no other author who has had as many good movies produced based on his work. The only others I can think of who can even compare are John Grisham, Michael Crichton, and Tom Clancy, and they are not close in terms of quantity. EDIT: Elmore Leonard is probably up there too. Summerall-Madden
I may be 47 but I am a kid at heart. May go and see that animated movie "Encanto" from Disney and later "Sing 2"
