I tend to agree the in your face comedies like Other Guys are typically overrated and I prefer more subtle stuff as well When I say more quotable, I don't mean by the general public. The reason why I posted this last night was I had a back and forth exchange just firing off quotes from ZaM with my buddy as he was watching it. I mean, you had the "I'll tell you what just happened in there! That chick just frosted me like I was a ******* CAKE!" line that just lives forever with my buddies and I. Or the "I like that dude but if he ****s that dog I'm calling the humane society." lmao. I rattled off the entire Glengarry Glen Ross quote from Justin Long without looking it up too and then Seth Rogan's "is that a sequel?" response just kills me every time. I dunno, man. I think it's severely underrated and it may be due to the nature of the content in the film and not the comedy itself. FinneasGage Posted March 26, 2023 Share Posted March 26, 2023 just did a double feature of scorsese's bringing out the dead and sidney lumet's before the devil knows you're dead this was completely coincidental... i was planning on watching bringing out the dead and then my roommate put on before the devil knows you're dead after but... * both movies have dead in the title * both movies have a scene where a character goes to a drug den to do heroin * both movies end with a character turning off someone's life support and putting the heart monitors on their chest and the breathing apparatus on themselves so the person dies on the low i couldn't believe they ended the same exact way that was absolutely ******* wild i watched those back to back anyway bringing out the dead was tremendous. loved it. before the devil knows you're dead was pretty solid. got a tad tedious for me in the 2nd act but came thru big in the end. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This first hour of the movie felt like one big chase/ action scene that went on way too long for my liking, also the movie felt so empty I don’t know how else to put it, it was definitely missing something.
