Another early season AFC East battle.

Last 5 Games:
2019: Buffalo 37 @ Miami 20
2019: Miami 21 @ Buffalo 31
2018: Miami 17 @ Buffalo 42
2018: Buffalo 17 @ Miami 21
2017: Buffalo 22 @ Miami 16

The Bills have swept Miami twice during McDermott's reign and split in 2018. The loss was a Charles Clay drop away from a Bills victory.

Same faces, new places:
Ryan Fitzpatrick - Former Bill starting QB is still the Dolphins starting QB
Shaq Lawson - Former 1st round pick spent his first four years in Buffalo before signing in Miami this off-season
Evan Boehm - Former Dolphins OL is currently on the Bills Practice Squad.

Fun Facts:
Josh Allen career stats vs Miami:  3-1 record. 913 yards passing, 10 TD, 3 INT, 102.8 rating 318 yards rushing, 10.97/carry, 3 TD 1,231 total yards. 2x AFC Player of the Week.
Buffalo LS and Miami LS Reid and Blake Ferguson are brothers.
The most points Miami has scored against McDermott's Defense is 21 (loss in 18')
The Bills current OC Brian Daboll use to be Miami's OC whereas the Dolphins current OC, Chan Gailey use to be the Bills HC/OC.

Recap last week:
Buffalo dominated the first half last week vs the hapless jets sans a few plays. The 3rd quarter woes from last season reared their ugly head again as Buffalo allowed the Jets to crawl back with a big play. In the end, the dominant start was more then enough for the Bills to pull out a week 1 win at home 27-17. The only concern coming out of Sunday is the health of starting LB's Tremain Edmunds and Matt Milano

The Dolphins were on the road in New England and struggled to contain Cam Newton who was the Patriots leading rusher and also scored twice on the ground. Fitzpatrick was more Fitztragic then he was magic last week as he threw 3 interceptions and zero touchdowns. The Dolphins lost WR DeVante Parker to an injury early and their offense was quite inept after that. Their new look OL was solid.

Analysis:

The Bills look like a team ready to make a jump and be serious contenders in the AFC. The defense, despite two key injuries looked as dominant as ever with newcomers Quinton Jefferson and Mario Addison making their presence known early. Josh Allen coming off a career day should be excited to see what he and his new toy Diggs can do against a Dolphins defense that struggled with throws over the middle. The Bills D-line is stacked and the depth is incredible, meaning guys are well rested and able to get a push all game long. The Bills must get their run game from the RB's going this week to protect Allen and avoid costly turnovers.

Will Fitzmagic show up this week? Does he have anything left? Gaskin was the surprise leading rusher for Miami last week with Howard not able to get anything going. Defensively Christian Wilkins looks like he's ready to prove his draft status and he could cause trouble for Spain and Ford on the inside. The health of Parker is a huge question mark for Miami who likely doesn't have much of a chance without him. Can Shaq Lawson and Ogbah get it going this week?

I like Brian Flores as a HC and Chan Gailey is as scheme friendly as they come. But the Bills are a better team on paper and on the field. I don't expect a blowout but I suspect a comfortable win like last years game in Miami is likely. Allen will find Diggs in the endzone and the Bills will sack Fitzpatrick twice while also intercepting him twice helping lead to a Bills 27 - Dolphins 10 victory.

I got the Buffalo Bills by 9 or less I have a feeling that we could win by more by I don't want to disrespectful to Miami.   This is not the New York Jets team with what I think has the worst Coach in the NFL.   Miami has a Coach that I respect that gets the most of it's players from what I saw late last season they have young skilled players and maybe we catch a break getting them the 2nd game of the season with no preseason games.  Buffalo 21-13

Me and the GF bought tickets to fly down to Miami from Chicago and go to the game! Pretty pumped to check out the city and see the Bills live in a much less crowded stadium.

I think the Dolphins are a much better coached team than the Jets but I like our defensive match up vs Fitzpatrick + Josh Allen typically has himself nice games against the Fins. Hopefully that continues to happen but squish the fish!

28-17 Bills.

Do yourself a favor and wear masks when out, we just went to phase 2 of openings down here and people do not care as we have a high covid rate. If you are concerned with COVID take care of yourself and enjoy the game.

Edmunds and Milano are day to day but I have a gut feeling that Edmunds will be a go however based on Milanos previous injury history with Hammy he will likely be out or capped at a certain % of snaps.

I also found it interesting we brought in 5 Cbs for a visit one being Trumaine Johnson, not sure what Mcdermott is seeing but it seems like they are not confident in what they have or if Norman will be back in time.

I think we'll see them be very conservative with Milano. Frazier made it seem like both should be back by Sunday which would be great but hopefully they aren't rushed.
