So, it’s unfortunate that he’s going to miss a few games, but I think we dodged a major bullet here. He will go on IR, but can return after three weeks. Given we have a 10 day mini bye going into week 5, that seems like an obvious date for his return.

We are going to seriously miss him playing against JuJu Smith-Schuster and then the Evans/Godwin double act. I thought Bryce Callahan played well in the slot on Monday night, but less so when he was forced outside when Bouye got hurt. Ojemudia had an encouraging debut outside, but Bassey struggled in the slot when he came in.

I like Bassey and think he has a lot of upside, but we don’t really want him on the field too much this season IMO. I’d like to see them bring up at least one of De’Vante Bausby and Kevin Tolliver from the practice squad to replace Bouye.

Vic says the plan is to stick with Callahan and the rookies. Gonna need a great game of football in the next two weeks to avoid an 0-3 hole. I know how Brady looks washed but it’s two rookies + a nickel playing in a new spot trying to execute a zone vs Brady. With those weapons.

This is the week to get a couple turnovers. Ben will hold the ball and try to make tight window throws. They’re executing the scheme well, time to break on some balls, get more tips etc.

To be fair, the Steelers have JJSS and then a bunch of guys at WR. Chase Claypool looks good, but he’s a rookie, and if we can’t trust Ojemudia to compete a fellow rookie we got problems. Callahan as the #1 worries me a bit, JuJu could do well against him. The safeties will need to provide some help, hopefully we get Mark Barron back as well which would be a bonus as a cover LB to take Josey Jewell off the field on passing downs.
