VonKarman
Next year the Rams have 8 players with an 8M+ cap hit, 2 players between 1.6 and 8M and 35 playing for change. Ramsey, Donald and Goff account for 85M of that cap hit, which is almost 50% of the estimated cap hit for 2021 (175M). The salary cap exists, and the Rams are a good example of that. P.S. Forgot to say, OTC has them with 18M over the cap. They'll have to restructure Goff's and Donald's deals. If that's the case there are 12 teams that will be over the cap and 4 or 5 that will be more over the cap than we would be. There would also be a handful of teams that couldn't pay their draft class. Forge
Remember when he signed as a free agent and everyone lol'd the rams for massively overpaying him, and then he turned out to quietly be a very good wide receiver and pretty underpaid for the last couple of years? Ahhh...good times.

Ahhh...good times. Just lol'ing us would have been fine. Some of the reaction in hindsight is comical with how good Woods has been.

Ahhh...good times. People bashed alot of the moves the Rams made that offseason. Woods was overpaid, the Rams gave an aging player Whitworth a ton of money and they hired the youngest coach in NFL history and the track record for young first time head coaches arent good. Not to mention I heard people bashing the Rams for taking Kupp and Johnson III in the 3rd round in the draft. How did all of that turn out? JaguarCrazy2832
Cant tell if this is a situation of: Rams playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers or If they think they hit the reset button without saving everything will go back to normal 2ish years ago? Uhh, what? 2 hours ago, AZ_Eaglesfan said: He is definitely worth way more than half that. He is likely worth 12-14 mil so this is an overpay, but saying he is worth half that means you are uninformed on how productive he has been the past two seasons. Woods can ball out. He's definitely worth what he's being paid. Great route runner, reliable hands, and arguably the best blocking WR in the NFL. He's a consistent 80 to 90 catches for 1100 to 1200ish yard WR in our offense, and that doesn't come close to summing up his value when it comes to the things not on the stat sheet. He's one of the more underrated players in the NFL.

I think posters aren't considering how great of a fit Kupp and Woods are for McVay's offense. He might not be worth that to them for their team, but for McVay and Goff these guys are great fits and can put up better #s than elsewhere.

He has stepped up more as the offense needs him and I love the way he plays, but I still think this is a slight overpay.

Prior to that, he was stuck in Buffalo in a scheme that didn't use him well with QBs who didn't fit his skill-set.

El Ramster
He’s probably the best YAC we in the NFL.. You know what’s crazy though.. When arguments are made against Goff it’s because he has Woods and Kupp and they’re amazing YAC wrs. When they get paid they aren’t worth it despite having phenomenal numbers.. and they’re a product of a system. Gotta save these quotes. Woods is so deadly in the jet sweeps as well.
