Cohen extension on the horizon?

Well it all depends on how Mitch performs really...don't we all know this by now?

If he sucks then he's gone and Foles is here to start while they a draft a young player.

If he's good then he'll get franchised at the very least.

Paying Robinson and franchising Mitch are going to be hard.

They are going to have to borrow significantly from the bank of Mack, and likely Fuller.

I don’t want to watch a year of Foles while we groom a likely bad 2nd round QB.

Ah I see you're giving up on Mitch again already lol...why don't we just enjoy the rest of 2020 and hope for the best. We can worry about that stuff in the offseason.

If they feel the need for a new QB, why wouldn't they draft one in the first?

I don't even know where you're coming from with that...

If they have a need for a new QB going into next year then it's likely the team will have finished in the bottom half of the league which would give them a  chance at drafting a top QB.

They likely won't have a shot at either Lawrence or Fields but there seems to be a couple other intriguing prospects that they could look at drafting and then sitting a year or two behind Foles.

Though like I've been preaching we'll cross that bridge if and when we ever get there.

For now it's still all about Mitch baby.

1. QB is a different situation.

2. The Cap is going down, probably a decent amount, for the first time in forever.

3. The Bears have found replacements the last few years because they have compromised themselves cap wise in upcoming years.

1) This has nothing to do with Cohen.

2) This is all new to everyone and there are hundreds of different possibilities that could play out. Let's not pretend to know all of them.

3) It still didn't stop 'em though like you thought it would.
