There really wasn’t a section to pull out to pull out to give you guy a key idea or key statement. This is just a really good article about Stef trying to build a team through video meetings.

I know through past coaches, we have heard and seen things that other coach was trying to do but was failure by previous staffs.  What this articles states on what Stef implemented into the team building process, is something I have never  heard one of our coaches do before.

Just my opinion, but I think what this franchise has done a really bad job is letting “what sounds good” influence every decision made. Cleveland should be a run team first. Then you can work on being balanced.

Look at Baltimore. They made a decision that they will be a run heavy team first and foremost and build from that. They didn’t just say “hey. we’re going to be a all encompassing and balanced team.” That’s not possible and you’re lying to yourself.

I think our fans genuinely don’t understand how to build a team. We just take bits and pieces of information from how other franchises have attained success. However, that’s how THEY do things. It’s what works for THEM. That does NOT mean it would work for us.

“We should sign this high priced WR.” What if your WR coach is great at developing guys or your system doesn’t require high end talent for that spot?

“We shouldn’t sign that guy because he’s a locker room cancer.” What if that guy just came from a bad environment and has guys in your facility who can relate with that player better?

”We should trade down and get more picks!” What if your GM is better at identifying higher end talent?

Team success is team specific. Seattle does not sign and draft the same type of players New England does. Green Bay has traditionally been offensive dominant. That’s the opposite of a Pittsburgh.

you got that from an article about team building that stemmed from a conversation with the HC at VCU?

I haven't read the article yet, but can you imagine Freddie Kitchens trying to run a "team building" Zoom meeting?  I think they'd end up on some sort of youtube channel that was geared towards ineffective meetings (either hilariously ineffective, or with the host getting angry.)

I picture Freddie trying to coordinate a team meeting virtually by calling someone on the phone and then having them call the next person on 3 way until the whole team is on the line.

Once everyone is on the line Freddie then starts the meeting while sitting on the toilet because he has a 75 foot phone cord.

Well, the alternative was me saying “oh look another fluff piece about how this coaches philosophy is different than the last 20 coaches.”

Well I don’t remember a coach before forcing players to open up, so emotional connections and bonds can be made. A lot of players coming from completely different backgrounds but having them open up and share a story that can be related can def allow relationships to be formed.

Freddie be the guy to hold the zoom meeting fine but when it would come time to share the screen, he shared the pornhub step brother step sister Alabama edition video by mistake instead of the power point
