My sweet, sweet Epenesa...

Love this thread, by the way. Thanks for putting the work in.

If Vaitai can get healthy and show that he's a solid player, I think the Jonah Jackson/Vaitai decision was a pretty wise move. It looks like Jackson is the real deal.

Yeah, I liked our G pickups this year. It does seem like Quinn knows how to grab those iol guys.

in the draft that is. I'm not very enamored with BQ in free agency.

Yeah, the FA stuff is concerning.

I think it speaks to his experience in the NE organization: good at drafting IOL, because that's often what you're scouting in the mid/late 1st, but not good in FA, which great teams like NE rarely have to rely on.

Do the NFCN draft class grades to date.

I might consider it when Week 4 rolls around. There's a few groups to update already.

I hate that you suggested this...

but here you go

CHICAGO BEARS

Jaylon Johnson, CB: 80.3

Cole Kmet, TE: 62.2

Darnell Mooney, WR: 74.6

Kindle Vildor, CB: N/A

Trevis Gipson, OLB: 53.3

Lachavius Simmons, OL: N/A

Arlington Hambright, OG: N/A

Average Class Score = 67.6

No Score = 3/7 = 42.8%

If I didn't need another reason to hate the Vikings, having to do this for 15 picks would do it.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Justin Jefferson, WR - 60.3

Jeff Gladney, CB - 48.5

Ezra Cleveland, OL - N/A

Cam Dantzler, CB - 59.8

DJ Wonnum, DE - 62.4

James Lynch, DT - N/A

Troy Dye, LB - 48.1

Harrison Hand, CB - N/A

KJ Osborn, WR - N/A

Blake Brandel, OL - N/A

Josh Metellus, S - 60.0

Kenny Willekes, DE - N/A

Nate Stanley, QB - N/A

Brian Cole, CB - N/A > With Miami

Kyle Hinton, OG - N/A

Average Score = 56.52%

No Score = 9/15 = 60%

GREEN BAY PACKERS

Jordan Love, QB - N/A

AJ Dillon, RB - 91.2

Josiah Deguara, TE - 71.2

Kamal Martin, LB - N/A

Jon Runyan, OL - 71.3

Jake Hanson, OC - N/A

Simon Stepaniak, OT - N/A

Vernon Scott, S - 80.1

Jonathan Garvin, LB - 53.1

Average Score = 73.38

No Score = 4/9 = 44.44%

So how does the grading translate to 100 pt. scale?

0 = what?

These are just PFF scores. I average out anyone that actually has a score. If you don't have a score, it isn't counted in that number. That's what the "No Score" is about. It's concerning when you are a team that has over half of your draft picks without any playtime (like Minnesota having 60% of their picks without a score).

I am trying to translate PFF grades.

PFF translates -2 to +2 grade in .5 increments on each play to a 100 pt. scale.

0 is supposed to be expected play.  So 0 should be their average.   But math only makes sense to me if 0 is 80.  Then .5 is 85 and so on through 100.

Trying to figure out if I have that right or I am missing something.

Im not really dissecting the grade itself. A 0 means that they haven't played a snap in a game yet. I let the PFF guys do what they get paid to do while I just nerd out on an internet forum

This talks about how they take the grades and convert to a 100 pt scale.

okudah could certainly turn out to be a good player but the case is about 99.9% closed that drafting him at 3 was a criminal waste of draft capital.
