QB 2022 and beyond

Fans always act tough and remark “he can just sit on the bench then”. Yea, that’s not how any of this works. The only guy I’ve ever see that happened to was Leveon and he lost all footballing ability while he was out. It’s better for all parties to move off your stance and facilitate a trade. They can play hardball all they want but nobody wants to be in a situation where the other party wants a divorce. If either wants the resolution bad enough, it’ll get done the way it’s supposed to. Everyone knows you start the negotiations asking for the moon. Cooler heads prevail and you agree to something in the middle. Maybe it’s not the designating team, maybe it’s not the asking compensation but it’s ultimately close to where you’ve been pounding your chest for.

I'd hope if it was the case that the Bears have a better offer and Carson is making it known he doesn't want to go there that Howie uses that to push Carson into a restructure.

Getting a 1st is worth all that dead money, some late 2nds...not so much.

A reworked Wentz deal makes him way more tradeable. Whether that be to the Colts or some new teams with less room.

100% - At the end of the day if he doesn't want to be here he won't be here.

Why would Wentz force the Eagles to spend the #6 pick on a QB? We have the great Jalen Hurts? If you're trading Wentz, that's on Howie if he drafts a QB!!

I actually have to give Carson props for being the 1st player in NFL history WITHOUT having a No trade clause (not) to dictate his trade status. That's impressive.

Definitely not the first.

But teams just won't trade high picks for a QB on a big salary, specifically to be their franchise leader and starting QB, when said QB has indicated that he doesn't want to go there.

This should have been expected.
