The 49ers have also faced the injury bug and they're thriving The 49ers were in the Superbowl last year. They were 5 minutes away from winning it. We are coming off a 7 win season; clearly this team isn't close to their window. That said - a healthy roster this year is much better than last year, so that's all we can ask; progress. Elway is to blame for the lack of depth, not Fangio.

BroncosFan2010
I have to imagine he never wears a Broncos jersey again w/o a serious restructure. Likely the case even if this injury didnt happen IMO. Still a great trade.

I mean I know you hate Fangio (and every other coach we've had since Shanahan) but we need to be honest about what the current issue is. This isn't like one player got hurt. We're talking significant, season ending or long-term injuries to some of the best players on the team at the same time. I'm not dismissing the significance of the injuries and I haven't hated every coach since Shanahan; I thought John Fox was exactly what we needed at the time he was hired and proved a competent, albeit unspectacular, head coach. Kubiak was an excellent head coach. I thought the hires of McDaniels, Vance and Fangio were mistakes. I don't see how any Broncos fan can argue otherwise on the first two. Perhaps the jury is still out on Fangio, and I'm willing to give him time, the injuries being the primary reason. But I do stand by my assertion that the team needs to be sold ASAP.
