titans0021
I don’t think the Steelers offense is particularly great, but it’s tough to see us holding them to 20 or under, which is probably what it will take given just how good their defense is. Chance for a statement game though.

The Vikings offense weren’t considered that great neither the jags, that being said our defense isn’t that good, & pray for a miracle

I wanted to reach out to your board and extend an invitation to add to our thread this week with any insight or thoughts on this upcoming game. This gold is hard on the eyes.......😨 Some early notes so far Have a feeling this is my last week doing GDT’s for while lol Good luck because if you keep winning, your fanbase will be hotter than a Tennessee BBQ grill coal if you stop and they lose. We are somewhat football superstitious. I started doing these during the Steelers 8-2 turnaround after going 0-3. You will see who has been and is doing the Steelers game threads this year... 😀 I would feel a little better if we were healthy Who is hurt for the Titans? I know about Taylor Lewan and Adoree Jackson. For the Steelers they are waiting on updates of WR/PR Dionte Johnson who left with a concussion. FB Derek Watt may be headed to the IR with a grade 2 hamstring pull, but he will be out. Back-up OL Stefan Wisniewski is on IR with a torn pec and RT Zach Banner is gone for the entire season. Steelers are just a team we seem to struggle against lately, the 2 preseason games we looked like crap and the regular season game on TNF we didn’t look good (different team I know I know) I actually pointed this out in the Steelers Gameday Thread. This series has gone back and forth. Many forget how big a rival that these two teams were before the NFL realigned. The Steelers have looked good the past few times that both teams have played in regular and pre-season. New year and strange year, so throw that out the window. Which Steelers team shows up for four quarters and which Titans team shows up for four quarters. Both have struggled thus far putting together complete games. Steelers have been historical slow starters (all three games thus far) and at times will shoot themselves in the foot (penalties, ST TD called back, PI's, and negative first down plays). If you get out early like you did against Jacksonville, it could spell trouble for us because our offense tends to push it at times instead of being patient. If we won’t have Adoree I just don’t like the matchups of our secondary against their speedy WRs If this game starts like the last 3 expect Ben to come out 4 or 5 wide and sling it I think that the Steelers offense gets too caught up in the speedy receivers. They are and would be a much more effective offense playing balanced. They can run the ball fairly well. They have to be consistent with that. As you certainly know with Henry and Tannehill, a good rushing attack will open up the friendly skies. The Steelers are far better served running the ball and throwing intermediate passes. They love the deep ball, but that is not always practical and sustainable for this offense. They no longer have AB, Wallace and Sanders. They do have Ju Ju and Washington, Ebron, McDonald, Claypool, and Samuels, McFarland and Connors to throw to. More weapons but maybe not as sexy as the first set a few years back. In my opinion the offense has not been able to have consistency because they have tried to sling the ball around or deep too much early. They won or finished all three wins with the rushing attack. The Steelers should run to open up the pass, not the other way around. If they do Butler, Byard and Vaccaro may make them pay. Butler has had some success against Big Ben and the Steelers going back to his Patriot days. At least if the Titans were stopping the run I’d have more hope but Connor has gone over a 100 the last 2 games and the Titans have been giving up career days on the ground The 100 yard rusher in all three games has been impressive but also a skewed stat in a few cases. The Steelers looked bad running against the Giants early and Connor was very ineffective prior to his injury. Bennie Snell helped the rushing attack by slamming the ball and showing a bit of speed that he had not shown the previous year. The Giants were ready for Connor, but didn't plan on Snell if that makes sense. Against Denver they did not utilize the running attack enough. Prior to Connors 59 yard bust which should have actually been a 69 yard TD if he had any semblance of speed, Denver bottled him and the rushing attack up pretty good prior to the fourth quarter. You have to be patient and run the ball. The Steelers had some turnovers in the second half that allowed Denver to get back in the game and it affected the game plan. Things could change but let’s see how the injuries shake out by Sunday Hope the Lewan injury isn’t too serious but so far doesn’t sound good since no one is talking about it Good luck and feel free to offer some Titans input on our game thread. 2 hours ago, titans0021 said: I don’t think the Steelers offense is particularly great, but it’s tough to see us holding them to 20 or under, which is probably what it will take given just how good their defense is. Chance for a statement game though. True but also slightly deceiving to many outside the organization. The Steelers offense has not been great by any means. The key is that I think that they have stopped themselves more so than their three opponents thus far. Negative plays on first down, impatience, not taking what the defense gives you and not using all of the tools in their new tool belt. Ben hasn't really been as rusty as he makes out to be. His problem hasn't been letting the ball go, but rather when and to who. He's got the best set of TE's that he has ever had in Ebron and McDonald. No they aren't Heath Miller as individuals, but combined can do what Miller did and more. RB McFarland was unveiled last week. He has speed and wiggle that no other back has. Claypool has been making plays every game thus far. he is a big, strong, fast, and freakishly athletic WR who is almost as big as TE Eric Ebron, but faster. No AB, but no drama either and he has a 7 - 1 TD to INT ratio thus far. This average and not so great offense has put up more points in three games than the Steelers did last year in their final five games of 2019 without Big Ben. They are good at being sneaky victims. This is not KC or Green Bay, but they are not by any means an average or below average offense. What is scary is they have not played close to their best football for four quarters. Incidentally this just in. This may change things big time: Three Titan players test positive for CV-19 https://www.yahoo.com/sports/titans-have-several-positive-covid-19-tests-suspend-inperson-club-activities-vikings-142759772.html

Especially if the Covid players are key pieces or offensive linemen. I have no interest in putting Tannehill behind a backup OL with no practice time against the Steelers defense. KingTitan
Will be the NFL's first virtual football game. Played like Dungeons and Dragons or chess. Use Madden's ratings to determine probability. I have the Titans/Steelers tied 102-102.

TitanLegend
Just forfeit the game, call us 3-1, and lets move on from all this. That's the simplest and needs to be the solution. Don't go screwing other teams cause of our outbreak, and that'll give us time to get all the testing/results/quarantines/etc.
titans0021
Excellent. League made no effort to have precautions in place for the inevitable. So let’s just toss the team out there with no practice against one of the most physical teams in the league and hope that nothing bad happens. titans0021
But also, this is all dependent on the unlikely scenario where there isn’t another wave of positive tests in the next few days.

Keep testing all week. See how we can make this work. Nfl needs to learn from the experience. This will be a season wide reality till the end of the year.
