the lone star
Is Rajon Rondo A HOFer?
Mox
No, he doesn't have anything worthy of getting him in. Knowing the NBA he has an outside shot for some reason.
DirtyDez
Should he be? No Will he be? It’s the basketball HOF...

Yeah, the criteria to get in doesn't seem too rigorous. I assume he'll play 2-3 more years and finish just outside of the top 10 in terms of career assists. His resume: • 1x NBA champion (with a chance to add 1 to 2 more rings with the Lakers) • 4x NBA All-Star • 1x All-NBA third team • 2x All-Defense first team • 2x All-Defense second team • Likely finishes top 15 in career assists • Likely finishes top 35 in career steals
beekay414
Based on his talent? Based on his resume that he piggybacked off of other surefire hall of famers and the basketball HoF being a borderline joke?

That's true, but Paul Westphal, Charlie Scott, and Sidney Moncrief all made HOF. I think they were better than Rondo, yeah, but that also means he's kinda borderline. Oh and Jamaal Wilkes made HOF too.

The only difference is Moncrief didn't win a ring because he ran into the Dr. J 76ers and the Larry Bird Celtics during his time. He was also always either Batman or Robin on his teams, not Alfred like Rondo lol. 5x All-Star 2x Defensive PoY 5x All-NBA (1x 1st team, 4x 2nd team) 5x All-Defense (4x 1st team, 1x 2nd team) During that 5 year run where he won all those honors, he averaged 21 PPG. Injuries derailed him afterwards but his peak was definitely HoF worthy. It also took Moncrief 30 years to get inducted, so I better be geriatric before Rondo gets in. beekay414
@redsoxsuck05 LIS, I better be geriatric before Rondo gets the nod. I'm turning 34 next month. If Rondo makes the HoF before I'm AT LEAST 60, we've got an issue.

NYRaider
I'll never forget playing HS summer league basketball when the Celtics were playing the Lakers in the Finals and our coach telling us "you gotta look to score and attack, don't allow them to play Rondo defense on you."
