onejayhawk
It's a short week after a big Monday night win. Naturally, we get a challenge. Belichick teams are never easy, even without Tom Brady. Lamar Jackson may have been the best preparation we could get for Cam Newton. Of more concern is the Patriots defense, once again among the best in football. That said, Baltimore was also one of the best in the NFL and we just finished grinding them to powder. Two trick play TD disguised the dominance of the receiver group, specifically including Clyde. Snap analysis is interesting. We have a clear TE2 in Nick Keizer, but he's mostly a run blocker. Despite his big game, Micole Hardman had fewer snaps. On D, Thornhill played every down, so he's back. Ward played extensively after Sneed was injured. Fenton played almost every down. Mike Danna had third most of the DE and first among non-starting DL. Turk Wharton (rookie UDFA) is getting almost as many snaps as Taco Charlton (former 1st round pick) in a similar run/pass breakdown. Our much lauded ST are currently bottom five in TBO. They really needed camp games with all the new personnel.
Chiefer
Sneed broke his collarbone, what I figured when I saw the injury during the game. I think his isn’t that bad, he was moving his arm around afterwards which would be impossible after a full break. 6 week timetable, wonder if we IR him? luckily we only need to hold up for one more game back there till Breeland gets back

onejayhawk
Robinson played 41 regular downs and three on ST, 1 target, no receptions. He has six receptions all season. J

I hope it's a clean injury. The good news is that Ward was able to play the full game after Sneed went down. We are fortunate this week to be against a weak WR group. New England has chronically relied on slot receivers, RB and TE more than WR. Thornhill and Mathieu are very good in that sort of coverage. KC_Guy
In case you missed it - some roster moves: Chiefs released WR Kalija Lipscomb from the PS and signed WR Chad Williams, a 2017 third round pick by Arizona, who also spent some time at Indianapolis. Fit a Veach pattern: taking a closer look at former high draft picks who didn't make it with their original teams. As expected, CB L'Jarious Sneed was placed on IR, LB Darrius Harris promoted from the PS. That leaves one PS slot open for now. Not sure the Chiefs will fill it this week with Corona protocol etc., as next week CB Bashaud Breeland will return to the team and someone will be jettisoned from the active roster, most likely finding a spot on the PS. onejayhawk
It's nothing that hard core fans don't already know, but Pride did a write up on the WR corps. One name of interest is Demarcus Robinson. Despite his lack of targets, he has more snaps than Mecole Hardman. Byron Pringle is a mainstay on ST, but he does have 16 snaps on offense. Marcus Kemp is exclusively ST.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2020/10/1/21495861/examining-the-chiefs-ultra-talented-wide-receiver-group Speaking of ST, Coach Toub has been vocal about who to blame--everyone but himself most of all. He called the kick to Duvernay, which was returned for a TD. Butker can kick them all through the end zone, at least under those conditions.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2020/10/1/21497592/chiefs-dave-toub-says-there-was-plenty-of-blame-to-go-around-in-special-teams-failures-ravens-nfl Opening line has the Chiefs favored by seven points. kempus
Another big game. Its good that we will have played all 3 of the AFC division winners and a tough divisional rival in our first 4 games.

Our last 10 games are dramatically easier than the first 6. Once we get past Buffalo, our biggest challenge left is...Tampa?
KC_Guy
Cam tested positive. Now the question: will the game be played as sceduled? Guess they'll need to test all the Pats now repeatedly, more: Edited October 3, 2020 by KC_Guy
