I’m not going to judge a rookie CB who entered the league in a pandemic year. Training camp was a mess, practices weren’t as plentiful.

The kid was short changed on normal preparation and has been thrown to the wolves because of injuries and a defence that doesn’t get enough pressure on the QB.

Hes been expected to play like a number 1 corner on a defence that’s an absolute mess.

At a position that is known to be one of the most difficult to transition into from college into the NFL.

You want short term production, especially if it is coming out of the 3rd overall pick. However, you are making picks for the long term.

Playing devil's advocate, CBs need to be confident. If you break a CBs confidence by setting them up to fail early on they probably won't meet expectations.

I think this was Quintricia's plan, but injuries threw Okudah onto the field and into an impossible situation for a rookie cb to look good.  I will say Okudah has show flashes when he's out there playing. Baptizing him by fire may prove to be a good thing in the long run if he is as mentally tough as he was portrayed to be before the draft. If he doesn't have the fortitude, then to your point he will break faster and we can move on from him quicker.
