That's news to me. I've heard the 3-4, the 4-3 (which I thot we were in) but not a 4-2-5 as a base defense.

It's called a sub package, but most teams run it as much or more than their base package. So, it's a matter of semantics.

This one will make some heads explode.

31: R1 P31 DL Gregory Rousseau - Miami
63: R2 P31 OT Dillon Radunz - North Dakota State
94: R3 P30 LB Cameron McGrone - Michigan
135: R4 P31 C Drake Jackson - Kentucky
143: R4 P39 TE Tre' McKitty - Georgia
175: R5 P31 OT Alaric Jackson - Iowa
179: R5 P35 WR Whop Philyor - Indiana

Value there is ridiculous. Swap out Alaric Jackson for another WR, DB, or RB and I’d like it. I just don’t see 3 rookie OL making the 53man roster.

Really?   That's exactly what I'd take for OL.     LT project,   RT/OG project, and a strict Center.

It pushes our currently roster, most of which don't have many years remaining.

Of course, it all depends on the right guys falling.   and  These 3 are perfect imo.

31 Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame; obvious need

63 Cameron McGrone, LB, Michigan; obvious need

94 Keith Taylor Jr., CB, Washington; strong need IMO

136 Josh Imatorbhebhe, WR, Illinois; obvious need

144 Adetokunbo Ogundeji, EDGE, Notre Dame; strong need

176 Drake Jackson, IOL, Kentucky; Center is a need

180 Naquan Jones, IDL, Michigan State; need

That's a good start and I like Ogundeji.

I don't get why you say CB is a need. We have three decent to very good ones and a useful backup. You could have had a much better WR than Imatorbhebhe with that pick. It's not like he would play as a rookie. Use his pick on Drake Jackson, who shouldn't be there after #150.

Here's one with a new needs list.

31: R1 P31 EDGE Gregory Rousseau - Miami
63: R2 P31 OT Dillon Radunz - North Dakota State
94: R3 P30 WR Elijah Moore - Mississippi
135: R4 P31 LB Baron Browning - Ohio State
143: R4 P39 C Drake Jackson - Kentucky
175: R5 P31 WR Trevon Grimes - Florida
179: R5 P35 S James Wiggins - Cincinnati

I don't like C.Ward. Is penalized far too much for what we get in return.

I don't like Breeland that much either. Basically for the same reasons. Penalties are drive enhancers for an offense. They're momentum killers for a defense. Our defense was killed repeatedly in the SB.

Keith Taylor is a big step up from either of those 2 guys. Let Taylor play and at least drop one or the other.

Maybe, maybe not. He's got what I like in potential. We still have 6th. and 7th. round picks to nab another WR is we wanted.  I liked our picks before Imatorbhebhe. So there's that. Also, we have guys waiting to step up. Next man up. Byron Pringle, D. Robinson, Jody Fortson, Gehrig Dieter have all played/practiced in our system. That's worth something.

Something is wrong here, because no one agrees with me. I think it's in the by-laws. ;)

Seriously, Jackson was the choice because top of the queue was full of LB and RB, with not a WR or TE in sight.

That draft would be amazing if it fell that way,  I doubt a lot of those players fall in those spots.   I love that one

As KSJ says, the value is insane. And it wasn't entirely the list. I was taking sliders.

Unfortunately, it is sinking in that this is a rebuilding year. We have too many players we cannot afford to pay, so we draft, we sift FA and we develop--a lot.

You don’t? If Schwartz retires, Fisher doesn’t come back, Reiter isn’t re-signed, and Osemele is still injured thats 4 spots right there that need help.

Andy likes to have vets at OL. I could see one starting rookie if someone good falls and one backup. I have doubts that a rookie starts day one though. That’d be 6 of maybe 9 spots there not taking into account Fisher or Schwartz.

I’m just struggling on who’s gonna replace them. Sure we’ll find some cheap vets,(who?) but we still need youth to come in and recharge the line. At least come in and start halfway through the season.

Fisher will not be back till 2022 at minimum, and Schwartz has a bad back and is well over 30. Unless you’re rolling with either Wylie or Remmers starting at tackle again. 🤮

Im really not comfortable in putting eggs into the Niang basket, I’m just hoping he can be a serviceable guard at this point

I'm either over-confident in Niang or some are selling him way short. I don't think he's going to come in and be a hall of fame OT, but he should be a solid starter for a long time. He'll likely have some rust early on, but I think he'll get back into the swing of things before too long. For the other side, right now I'm just hoping someone drops in the draft to 31. It's definitely possible with the depth of this class.

Remmers was serviceable at RT. But he's not who I'm looking at to start day one. I think Durant has a shot. When he played he did ok considering the circumstances. He's got a year under his belt and I think will be eyed as the primary swing OT next year.

I really think we bring in a vet to play C. I just don't see Andy essentially giving that duty to a rookie.
