Fisher will not be back till 2022 at minimum, and Schwartz has a bad back and is well over 30. Unless you’re rolling with either Wylie or Remmers starting at tackle again. 🤮

Good Lord, no. We won't make the playoffs with both of them playing.

I could go with Niang at one. I assume he'll be capable and can improve throughout the season. Durant? Probably plays OG. But can he play a partial season. Maybe. I'd rather have a first rounder jump in. I hope Andy can see the cards he's dealt and go with a good 1st. rd. pick, if we can get him.

136 Shaka Toney, EDGE, Penn State; replace F.Clark

176 Drake Jackson, IOL, Kentucky; backup or starter at Center

Doing that procrastination thing again.

31. Jaylen Mayfield, OT Michigan - He and Niang either both start at OT, one moves to OG, or one ends up the 6th man.

63. Carlos Basham Jr., DE Wake Forest - Starts opposite Clark. Should be a big upgrade from last year.

94. Josh Myers, C Ohio State - Should start day one.

136. Seth Williams, WR Auburn - Competes with Pringle for Watkins' old role.

144. Anthony Schwartz, WR Auburn - Didn't intend to go back to back WR or Auburn, but here we are. He competes with Hardman and takes over return duties.

176. Shakur Brown, CB Michigan State - Depth player who could develop into a starter in a 1-3 years. ST player day one.

180. Ventrell Miller, LB Florida - Maybe a reach for need, but he has potential. Another guy who starts out with ST while developing for the future.

217. Noah Gray, TE Duke - A cheap upgrade to the #2/3 TE slot. Not the future #1, but an upgrade at depth.

I'm either over-confident in Niang or some are selling him way short. I don't think he's going to come in and be a hall of fame OT, but he should be a solid starter for a long time. He'll likely have some rust early on, but I think he'll get back into the swing of things before too long. For the other side, right now I'm just hoping someone drops in the draft to 31. It's definitely possible with the depth of this class.

Remmers was serviceable at RT. But he's not who I'm looking at to start day one. I think Durant has a shot. When he played he did ok considering the circumstances. He's got a year under his belt and I think will be eyed as the primary swing OT next year.

I really think we bring in a vet to play C. I just don't see Andy essentially giving that duty to a rookie.

All we really know on him is he was a 3rd round pick who opted out and rehabbed a hip injury. Talented, yes, but is he going to make it back fully? It’s an unknown that I’m not privy too.

I think Durant is more of an emergency tackle. They really want to put him at guard, opting for Wylie at tackle instead for the SB.

I have a feeling Kilgore will be back.

I really like Niang,  but I’m hesitant to count on him immediately.  Pretty much 2 years without playing,  plus the adjustment to the NFL.    He’s a really good RT guy,  but it’s hard for me, personally, to see him contributing a ton right away.    I also don’t see him at LT at all.

I think they drafted Niang with an eye to LT, though Mahomes makes lateral mobility necessary at both ends. If Niang was in this draft pool, he would be in the Eichenburg, Cosmi, Radunz tier, but with a year of exposure to the staff, players, and the playbook. If we want anyone to step in and start, he's the guy.

Durant is a very controlled player, which makes him better suited to OG than OT. His best place is going to be LG, but he can play either. RT is an emergency position. Rankin is still around. He has been taking ST snaps since November, but they didn't think he was suitable even with the dire straights we had in the playoffs. Is it a matter of needing to work through the lingering stages or is there permanent damage?

Salary cap issues are going to be an problem for the next several years. The Chiefs need to get younger and cheaper along the Offensive line.  Mahomes is the best QB in 35 years (IMO) and as was on full display during the Super Bowl, he needs protection.

I've seen 3 of Alabama's O-line going to the Chiefs: Alex Leatherwood (OG/OT), Lance Dickerson (C), and Deonte Brown (OG), a 350 pound specimen.  Let the Chiefs talent evaluators determine the best athlete for our schemes, so any of the following would work: Eichenberg, Vera-Tucker, Meinerz, Myers, Mayfield, Smith, Humphrey, Cleveland, Radunz.  I'd like to see 2 of the first 3 picks go OL. Let them gel with Niang and form a power nucleus for our run game and protection for Mahomes.

Fisher has some gas in the tank, assuming he recovers from his knee injury. Schwartz I think is done. Releasing both would reduce $25.2 million against the cap.  With $6.9 million in dead money, that still clears $18.3 million. I'm certain that this discussion is taking place in the Chiefs strategy meetings.
