Darbsk
Watching the Monday night football game and they had a small interlude showing the 2012 QB class; Pick 1 Andrew Luck Pick 2 Robert Griffin III Pick 8 Ryan Tannehill Pick 22 Brandon Weeden Pick 57 Brock Oswieler Pick 75 Russell Wilson Pick 88 Nick Foles Pick 102 Kirk Cousins Pick 185 Ryan Lindlay Pick 243 B J Coleman Puck 253 Chandler Hamish Undrafted Case Keenum Got me thinking that it looks now like a very deep draft class with 2 Superbowl winners, 5 maybe 6 franchise type QBs and a couple pretty decent backups. If RG III and Luck hadn't suffered injuries maybe it could have rivalled some of the best of all time. 2017 was top heavy with Watson and Mahones (and the Peterman of course), 2004 had Manning, Rivers and Roethlisburger and 2000 had Pennington, Bulger and Brady but is 2012 the best overall class of this millennium? evilflamingo
Certainly not with the injuries to Luck and RGIII. Luck was obviously great but only played 5,5 seasons, Griffin only really shone during his rookie season, Tannehill is decent but has had an underwhelming career, Weeden and Osweiler were both crap, Wilson is great, Foles created magic but has been a career backup, Cousins is above average and Keenum had one decent year but otherwise is a career backup. As it turned out I'd easily have 2004 (Rivers, Ben, Eli, Schaub) ranked higher and likely 2005 (higher peak with Rodgers and comparable depth with Alex Smith, Fitzmagic, Campbell, Cassel, Orton) 2000 as well just off how dominant Brady has been.
TecmoSuperJoe
I'd also go with 2004.

Yes, 2004 was a great one too but its not clear cut to me, if I'm comparing the two directly I might be tempted to say Wilson is the best overall QB, just slightly better than Ben. Luck maybe compares to Rivers in terms of talent not longevity of course and Tannehill could with a couple more years at Tennessee be comparable to Eli who I never really thought was a top QB, can't remember him ever being in MVP discussions. Then you have Griffin and Foles who both had a superb season each, Cousins as a steady guy long term and Keenum as a great backup who's stuck around. I think the only other QB from '04 to stick around any time was Luke McCown. 2004 was probably top heavier but overall but I guess its how much you rate Eli Manning and Schaub....... 2012 for me by a whisker 😀
OkeyDoke21
I would take 2004.
///mcompact
Watson and Mahomes were in the 2017 draft, not 2016. I think 10 years from now, it will be one of the last few drafts that will be viewed as the “stacked” QB drafts. I think it’s a just a sign that mobile QBs are becoming more than just gimmicks in today’s NFL.

If by today you mean since 5 years ago then I agree.
43M
If Luck had stayed healthy and Tannehill never played with Gase, I think this argument would be a lot closer. As of right now, its still definitely 04.

Kiwibrown
Let's talk about the browns impressive ability to miss on qbs. Winslow over big ben. Manziel over carr, jimmy g and teddy. Ol man weeden/ Trich over Tannehill, wilson. Kesler over Dak/Wentz. Spergon Wynn over Tom Brady. The only save is that everyone passed on Dak, Wilson and Tom. Mr Bad Example
Everyone misses on draft picks. The Bears and Browns are notable because they've been in need of even a decent one since the mid 80s and keep coming up empty. In either case you feel like random chance would've gotten them at least a Cousins/Goff.
