A game doesn't have to be played, just like the All Pro doesn't have a game for it's selection. Traditions with time can be changed or discontinued with time in favor of practicality/logic. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Half the selections drop out, and are filled by alternates. And no real effort is put into the game anyway by the participants. What's the point of watching a watered down product that's meaningless? Not every All Star game is created equal, and the NFL's is the worst of the bunch. Doesn't mean they shouldn't or that it's not an idea to entertain.
