Unfortunately, I'd be absolutely shocked if he doesn't. Not even exaggerating...I think it's more likely that I'm the back-up QB next year than Bowen getting fired/let go. And I cannot scramble like I used to. I think it's more likely he gets promoted to DC than fired. He is Vrabel's BOY. I really, really, really hope he doesn't fall down the same path that Mularkey did You can't assemble a staff with your drinking buddies and win a super bowl. You need to assemble a staff with actual coaches.
deeluxx3
I'm not trying to totally s--- on Bowen, but how does THIS resume get you to a DC role by age 34? Unless, of course, nepotism kicks in. Because like Bowen, it's not an outside hire, but a promotion, and it was clearly not done on resume. That being said, I am a little skeptical too. TitanSlim
To be fair, this was Brandon Staley’s resume before leading the Rams this season to being one of, if not, the best defense in the NFL. That's not ten years, but it's definitely not nothing. People have earned coordinator jobs with less in the past, and some have worked out alright.
KingTitan
Bowen is probably a "smart guy." I am by no means taking up for him, but sometimes you have the right call but the guys just fail to execute. Like when you double Davonte Adams and both guys let him go by him. lol Not the DC fault if nobody can rush the passer. DC fault is that players at times seemed to have no idea what they were doing. lol I bet Bowen is back as DC. lol
-Hope-
i couldn't give a rat's *** about bowen's resume. vrabel himself had an awfully light one as a coach before getting hired here. i care that the defense he runs is in shambles. Daniel
A Bowen promotion would give me very little faith in Vrabel’s ability to learn from his mistakes. We need improvement, not a shuffle.

We need improvement, not a shuffle. A Bowen promotion might be fine if we hire a new OLB coach who can focus solely on being a position coach and Bowen can focus solely on being DC. I wouldn't love it, but it would be better than what we had going on this year. Of course our defense was so bad it would also be hard to be any worse... 🤷♂️
