Chrissooner49er
HAHAHAHAHA! What a clinic put on by Shanny and Saleh! And at BB's house!? WOW. Anyone else note how quickly Aiyuk has picked up the playbook?!? What a quick study! And with such a crazy offseason, too! Love this kid. Lamb was who I wanted, but I am so excited it's Aiyuk we got. It's amazing to me that our D-line is doing what it is with Armstead being the only one anyone might know...well, and Kinlaw getting attention. Our 2 best end rushers are out and yet this is what they pull off?! WOW yet again.

After the bye week is a long time...that's more than an IR stint at this point. I mean it is a IR stint, no? The next three games is what he will miss. I can't find where she said that but if she got it from the post-game presser, Shanahan said he hopes he doesn't miss too much time. Just can't see him playing the next two games, slight chance vs NO if he's not put on IR.

I would classify missing 3 game weeks / 4 total as "a while"

We should know more details when Kyle does his presser this afternoon. But he will probably say high ankle sprain for Wilson so he will be going on IR, strained hamstring for Deebo and we haven't decided yet if he will go on IR and Richie James is day to day with an ankle sprain lol. Pettis time!!!!

Though yesterday I didn't think Jimmy got rid of the ball as quick as he did against the Rams. Of course, that's because he probably was not afraid of Donald wrecking havoc if he held on to the ball too long.
NinerNation21
A couple of thoughts on this game: The system is the real MVP of the season so far. We're literally churning through players on both sides of the ball and we're still playing well. We'd be in line with 2019 numbers if everyone was healthy. Jeff Wilson is a RFA at the end of this year. I think he's earned a new contract with the 49ers. If this is the kind of runner Wilson is becoming, he 100% makes Coleman and McKinnon expendable at the end of this season. Mostert, Hasty, Wilson, UDFA is what I'm thinking for next season. Our rookie 1st rounders played very well. I know Kinlaw's total pressures from yesterday, but he was in the backfield a lot. Pat's o-line is considered above average or better and Kinlaw was doing a great job of breaking through it often. But, like every game this year, he's not getting home on his pressures yet. I think that will come in time, though. Aiyuk. What's left to say about Aiyuk without sounding like a broken record. His explosiveness is obvious every time he touches the ball. I loved that we finally connected with him deep, albeit, on a inaccurate pass. It should've been a TD, which would've prevented Wilson from injuring his ankle on the very next play. I didn't realize how good Aiyuk's hands are. He catches everything within his reach. He's looking like a real stud. Three things I said on the podcast this week was I wanted to see the O-line build off of last week and turn in another great game. I wanted to see our offense continue to be in-sync and have a rhythm. We needed to stop Cam from running and force him to throw to win. The 49ers were successful in all three of those areas and got a historic win. This season isn't dead.

If James can go, we need to play him in Deebo's role and let him run around in motion, move him in and out of the backfield, etc. He's not the bully that Deebo is, but he should 100% be effective in that type of usage given that he can move a bit with the ball in his hands. Just let him do those bubble screens, the runs and swing passes, etc.

He played great yesterday but Hasty can do just as well. Now, if we can bring him back for cheap? Then no problem at all rolling with Mostert, Hasty and Wilson. Like you mentioned, we can easily pick up another UDFA or a late round back. So apparently PFF has the Pats blitzing 11 out of 27 drop backs. Interesting, going to have to watch the game again and see how the OL did against them and if the Pats were just disguising their looks and having a DL drop back in zone while bringing the corner or LB to blitz. They did just that in the first quarter and right on que, the OL was completely lost and no one picked up the DE who got a easy sack. They managed one sack (the other was a blitz), which was also our only QB hit by the defensive line. That's a week after we managed 0 sacks adn only 4 pressures, one of which was a blitz. They are holding up very well against the run, but they are a disaster getting to the QB right now

Pettis breakout game time!!! Honestly, if he gets snaps from the slot, he should be fine. But not sure if Jennings is on IR or not. Shanahan will have someone in that role though as that keeps the defense honest and gives Jimmy easier looks. I didn't say they brought more than four. They brought a LB while dropping one of their ends/LBs and no one picked up #93. But that disguised look is what completely made the OL fall apart. Not sure either, hoping he can be called up. He can join the YAC bros as he is a beast after the catch himself. Even though the Seahawks are really stout at stopping the run, I think Shanny still tries to attack them and force them to bring an extra man in the box and then take some intermediate shots. I still don't think Dunbar/Griffin talent wise are a bad duo, but damn that's a suspect pass defense and defense in general.
