They brought a LB while dropping one of their ends/LBs and no one picked up #93. But that disguised look is what completely made the OL fall apart. Yeah, but I don't consider that a "blitz". I only consider it a blitz when they are bringing extra rushers. Do you not? You're talking about "blitzing", so I'm not sure what you're considering a blitz. Like, I don't consider a zone blitz a blitz if they aren't sending extra rushers.

The problem with the OL isn't only when teams bring five or more, it's when they disguise their looks and the OL has to communicate on the fly on their protections and are unable to do so. That's exactly what happened on the sack. #93 was damn near untouched. McGlinchey helped on the interior DL and #93 just flew by with an easy sack. I still want to see how the Patriots blitzed 11 times, I have to watch that again. I know very late in the game they brought Gilmore on the Kittle 3rd down reception, but overall it didn't seem like they brought a LB or DB that many times. Maybe on some of them Jimmy released it quick where it wasn't noticeable but I thought overall that was a terrible game plan by BB on defense. I'm just trying to make sure I am understanding and not misinterpreting what you're saying. I do agree that it was a cluster**** of understanding by the line, and they have really struggled with that the entire year.

Look at McGlinchey, he completely completely lets #93 free. They dropped the edge rusher on Williams side and brought a LB. Such a simple blitz you would think, but enough to completely befuddle McGlinchey. Who is the next blitz heavy team we will face? It's going to be a long day/night lol. Buffalo and Arizona are the two biggest remaining on the schedule. Also, fun side note, they are the only two teams on our schedule that blitz more than we do...which is damn near traumatizing when you consider how bad we are at getting to the QB. Another team that was uber blitz heavy? Miami. 3rd highest blitz rate in the NFL.

AZ was another loss but I think our offense was actually fine that game, just a bunch of misses from Jimmy. Oh yeah, it's actually amazing how well our secondary and backers have held up in coverage. Only time we got close to Goff or Newton were when we blitzed. Though I thought Saleh dropped more in coverage than usual against the Rams. That allowed the back end to take away the crossers and Goff's first reads which made him inaccurate. I just don't know what you do against Wilson. Like you kind of have to blitz to get to him, but we all know how deadly he is if the blitz doesn't get home. At the same time, you can't let him sit back and pick you apart with his WRs. Saleh certainly has his work cut out for him.

Where his numbers ranked on the team: 5th in total touches with 28 5th in yards from scrimmage with 465 1st in yards per touch with 16.6 1st in total TDs with 5 1st in yards per catch with 17.3 3rd in YAC with 205 2rd in passer rating when targeted with 113.8 All of this was mainly with Mullens and Beathard as his QBs on a bad team. Seriously, WTF happened to this guy? These numbers aren't telling me he's a hidden gem and a future starting WR for the 49ers, but they are telling me that he was once a productive WR in a small sample size. I don't know if he lost his desire, thought it would be easier than what it really is, or what but man it would be nice to have rookie Pettis on the team this year. J-ALL-DAY
I would definitely be interested in Griffen. I was hoping we would target him before the Cowboys signed him. But this has Seattle written all over it.

I'm not saying he is what he once was, but we need any help we can get. Kerrigan would obviously be more ideal, but not sure if the Redskins will want to move on from him. J-ALL-DAY
If I heard correctly, Wilson will be going to IR but Shanahan didn't mention Deebo going to IR. So maybe he still has some hope he can return soon.

Anyone can ball out. Even rookies. But yeah, for his draft position he should have at least been average. Making Shanahan look like a doofus with that pick.
